what gives?

I'm thinking, at least in the case of the Harris poll, that the voters don't know the difference between the two schools yet. ;)

The thing is this.. If you beat a top10 Louisville team then turn around and lose to some rather questionable squads, voters aren't going to take any of it seriously. USF has had a remarkable season, but its been riddled with streaky play making it tough to judge.

Also, whether its warranted or not, people look at the fact that USF's ass whooping on UCF took place early in the season during the 0-17 streak. UCF turned things around dramatically, and has stayed that way. People see a team that is pulling things together, then turn around and see a USF team loss a coaching battle with friggin' UConn. Yeah.. Leavitt for coach of the year... Righhht..

Play tough against WV and no one will be able to write it all off as a fluke. Play WV and get your ass handed to you.. then.. well.. heh.. Wear your "New Temple" crown proudly...

Anyway.. This is a statement weekend for both schools.

Agreed... (regarding the statement weekend thing).

I'm not sure if we'll beat WVU, but i expect a much better showing offensively.

Statement? Both schools?? We're playing the 11th ranked BCS team, you're playing the 50th and since you're ranked 48th, how would a win by you be a "statement"??

And you're continuing reference to Temple shows how out of touch with big time college football you are .....

I think going from 0-11 to conf champs is making a statement.

Going from 0-11 to winning 6 or 7 made a statement about UCF. Going from 0-17 to conference champs makes a statement about CUSA .....

After looking at the USAToday, the AP, the Harris and the BCS polls it would seem to make a statement about our Florida division 1A teams too.

Sour freakin grapes!

Whatever you can "say" about CUSA you can certainly "say" about NBE!

Get over it.

You knew this day would come.

CUSA got owned by a school coming off a pathetic 0-17 run, can't say that about NBE. CUSA doesn't have a team in the top 47 of the BCS rankings, can't say that about NBE. They have three.......... You get the picture.

Get over it.

You knew this day would come.

The day has been here since around 2001 when we whooshed by you.

This scenario we're in now is so reminiscent of your cute ASun days. King of the hill there but still lagging behind us ..... Get over it. It's the way things are, and will be, until you all do something on the field/court to change it...... and I'm not saying you won't, just that you haven't.

What are the current BCS rankings outside of the top 25?

Cutting and pasting the Sagarin won't do.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
