He'll do fine. Losing to Spurrier hurts, but sometimes those are the breaks.

UF outgained USC by 100 yards... basically two plays made the difference. That's the kind of thing that happens at home.

This is pretty much what most Gators projected given our lack of depth in several key areas before the season started and the fact that it takes a year to get the offense moving.

Spurrier is a great coach. The UF-USC game will be a good one for years to come.

We shall see, 2 more seasons like this in Gville will get him on the street. That being said I don't believe Spurrier makes it 6 years at South Carolina, he's 61 and has said in the past that coaching past 65 doesn't appeal to him.

Doubtful for 2 reasons:

1) Spurrier doesn't want to coach that much longer. He does love a challenge so he'll probably stay at USC longer than he would most jobs... 5 or 6 years. But he doesn't want to be a Bobby Bowden.

2) Urban is building something special at UF. The program is disciplined,  they're developing on all parts of the field, and he's recruiting a great class.

Next year will be tough for UF... as if we don't play a tough enough schedule, already, we'll be looking at 7-8 ranked teams in 2006. It would be silly to expect a 10 win season at that level of competition but Florida will be much improved.

toolio,

I'll have to agree, with FSU/Bowden in their twighlight UF went out and got a very good young coach to counter the down time that will come after Bobby leaves FSU. I'm sure fans are sweating now, but I believe it will pay off in the long run.

I thought Chris Leak was very clutch in thee SC game (as he was in Tennessee) I forsee him being very very good QB next year, seems like the offense is comming to him.
