Is the Meineke Car Bowl the 3rd place team in the BE or the second.

The Gator Bowl gets the 1st choice after the BCS.  It doesn't automatically go to the 2nd place team.

I believe the Insight gets the next choice then the Car Care Bowl.

Yep, that's correct.  And the Insight Bowl (in Phoenix) realizes that they're more likely to get fans from a cold weather school (such as Rutgers) than from a warm weather school such as us.  Therefore, they will take Rutgers, leaving us the chance of going to Charlotte.  Truth be told, I think we will bring more fans to Charlotte (within driving distance) than Phoenix.

I think the Gator would pick us up, it makes perfect sense for them too:

1.) We're a Florida school who has never been to a bowl game before, hence this is history within a driving distance for us.

2.) We have an element of surprise, we shocked the country with the Louisville game, and it could happen again.

3.) It's a feel good underdog story (for any bowl really): USF, playing in their 10th season, goes from I-AA, to I-A Indies, to C-USA, to the Big East.

I know that these bowls are all about the money, but I just don't see the Gator bowl passing up the chance to draw huge from the USF crowd. Sure it'd be a risk for them, but at least you know the ACC team's fans would show up  ;D
