I had a friend from FGCU tell me today that the student newspaper reported a meeting between the Sun Belt commissioner and school officials.  It said that FGCU is trying to seek admission into the conference by 2007 for its sports programs, which at the moment, does not include football.

I can't seem to find the article online, but maybe someone else heard about it?

They'd have to move to Division I first. They're currently D-II and I'm not aware of any transitional period being in progress. No way it could get done that quickly. Even if it could, it's hard to imagine the Sun Belt would be interested. The Atlantic Sun would be more realistic.
