WIU - Newberry Game Canceled

The football game between Webber International University and Newberry College, scheduled for Saturday, August 27, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. at Legion Field has been canceled by Newberry College.

WIU officials have not been officially notified of the cancellation by Newberry, but according to the Newberry College website, www.newberryindians.com, the game has been canceled.

According to the Newberry website, next years game, scheduled to be played at Newberry, has also been canceled.

The Warriors will now kick-off their season against Wingate University on Saturday, September 3, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. at Legion Field in Lake Wales.

Ouch.  I know West Virginia was pissed about us cutting out the last game(cause we had too many and had to pick), but that is crazy.  It's less than a week away.
