Beating UCF doens't signify a turnaround.  USC beat us and Troy last year.  Didn't mean much then.  If they beat Georgia the following game, then that might signify something.

Depends on your definition of turn around.

I don't think they will ever contend for the national championship. But they should be a consistent winning progrm and contend for the SEC title every so often.

Not sure how to say this without it turning into a pissing match but how can you say USC will never contend for a NC?  Do you think USF will?  I only ask because most of your people think you will some day.  I also believe that UCF will be up there some day.

But if you say USC can't make it, then certainly USF and UCF can't either, right?

It would be incredibly tough for them, playing Florida, Tennesee, and Georgia every year.

I will go out on a limb and say that USC won't make a title game while Spurrier is around. Certainly any school can theoretically "contend" at some point in the future. I don't think USF will contend anytime soon. (I'm not talking about challenging for the BCS bowl, I mean getting the press as a realistic team who can play in the national title game at the end of the year.) Look at the schools who have won the NC over the past decade, and then compare their infrastructure, financials, marketing and alumni support to USC.
