PROVIDENCE, R.I., MAY 21, 2018 – Having secured the No. 2 seed in the upcoming American Athletic Conference Championship in Clearwater, the USF baseball team was honored with six all-conference selections, the league announced Monday.

For the first time in five years spent in The American, USF saw six players earn all-conference nods. Junior third baseman David Villar (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) was named to the first team. A slew of Bulls were named to the second team, as pitchers Peter Strzelecki (Lake Worth, Fla.) and Andrew Perez (Orlando) were joined by outfielder Duke Stunkel Jr. (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.), shortstop Coco Montes (Miami) and first baseman Joe Genord (Lake Worth, Fla.).

Congrats to all the players, but especially David Villar.  He was our rock this year.  I don't think he missed a game all season.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
