TOO MUCH GATOR for ACC?

The league is mulling how to handle the Gator Bowl, which has traditionally grabbed the second-place finisher in the ACC. But now that Jacksonville is hosting the ACC championship game, at least for the next four years, there is concern whether the loser of the game would want to return a month later for the Gator Bowl. One possibility is crafting an agreement with the Peach Bowl.

I think youll see their # 2 go to Peach Bowl and Gator endsup with #3 and remember that stating in 06 they have a good shot at TWO BCS bowl teams so it could go down to third or fourth choice for the Gator

Nothing would please me more than for the Gator Bowl to lost it's #2 ACC tie-in because the schools would decline the inviation for a return trip to Jacksonville 3 weeks after the ACC championship...  especially since the Peach Bowl has the same payout... In fact, the ACC doesn't even need to do this on paper, because the schools do have some say whether they accept and inviation or not.

Serves them right for abandoning the Big East to set up this bogus Big 12 partnership.
