I was at the game and I expected to see Mark Savarese when it was close in the 8th, 9th, or 10th?  Is there something I don't know?  On the radio feed was it announced that he couldn't pitch tonight?  I'm somewhat confused as we've used him all year in close game situations.  I couldn't believe we went with Ryan Valdes for 2 straight innings especially since he was getting hit pretty hard since pitch number one.

Did he graduate tonight and walk in the ceremony?  I have no idea why he didn't pitch.  Just drawing at straws here...

So he walked tonight?  If so, good for him, but this doesn't explain it.

Valdes was wearing #16 yestersay to commemorate Jose Fernandez. I'm not sure if that had anything to do with him playing or not.
