Sophomore forward Luis Santos (Bronx, N.Y.) shot a perfect 7-for-7 from the floor, setting a new career high with 16 points, all off the bench. The Bulls faced an early deficit at Devlin Fieldhouse but redshirt freshman forward Tulio Da Silva (Brazil) kept USF close by scoring the team’s first eight points. Leading 12-10, Tulane then tallied a dozen consecutive points to establish a double-digit advantage and head into halftime with a 44-26 edge. Junior guard Geno Thorpe (Pittsburgh) who was mired in first half foul trouble, helped USF lower the difference to 12 points with 6:41 remaining. He scored 19 of his team-high 22 points after halftime but Tulane extended the lead late to hold on for the win. Key Stat • The Green Wave made 12 three-pointers, including seven in the first half.
