It was a cool night, this evening in Memphis. It was a cool night, as the Tigers fans and the Bulls fans filed into their seats to watch the show. And so Quinton Flowers brought the show to them.

Just under two years ago, it was the beginning of a moment. An era. A promise of what could be, and what was to come. But in it, was heart break. Quinton Flowers, given the opportunity he had always dreamed of, discovered that once again, he would do so with his family watching up above. For he had lost his stepbrother, two nights ago. But in proof of his courage and his fortitude, Quinton Flowers pressed on. It was a harbinger.

It was a pedestrian game, but in it Quinton showed the glimpses of promise. His speed, unrivaled. His athleticism, unmatched. But his passing, unpolished. His zone-reads, tentative.

Two years on, this promising young man, this glimpse of promise, had become a leader of men. His passing, unstoppable. His runs, agile and decisive. His speed, unchaseable. His will-unbroken.

On the other sideline, came an offense that was nigh-unstoppable. It's quarterback, accurate. Its receivers, fast and tall. Its running backs, quick and dangerous.

It had been a fast start. Rodney Adams, he of the speed and the polished moves, had stolen the show early with 150 total yards and two TDs. And now, Memphis had come back. So Quinton Flowers rallied his team forward, pushed them to midfield...and blew the Memphis defense wide open with a touchdown run that left the crowd and the Memphis defense gobsmacked. What is this? Who is this man? How is he so fast? The answer: this is Quinton Flowers.

Memphis came right back down the field and scored again. The crowd thundered, the fans roared, and an indelible aura of greatness gently soaked itself over the field, as the teams went into half-time focused in a close game.

Memphis opened up the second half flying, as they took the lead for the first time, and then recovered an onside kick in an attempt to take the game away from the Bulls. But did this stall Quinton Flowers, this leader of men and performer of great deeds? No! His defense felt his greatness, and shone through with a moment of greatness of their own in taking the ball away. Quinton Flowers, punisher of defenses far and wide, took them back down the field for the lead.

So as the game rolled on, the crowd thundered, the offenses exchanged explosive play after explosive play, Flowers energized the rest of the team with his greatness. But in the final stanzas, Memphis struck back again, undoing all his hard work to tie the game once again. But greatness shall NOT BE DENIED. The play broke, his compatriot in arms bumped into him. And in that moment, in that second of contact, the greatness was reignited in this fine compatriot again. It was the return of the Mack, and he laid a block that sprung open Flowers a clear green garden path towards the promised land. And once again, energized by his greatness, his fire, his passion, the defense said "we shall create our own greatness". And so it was.

So much more is to come. But this night, this game, this famous game by the fully blossomed Flowers in full flow-it shall not be forgotten.
