I used 2004 rosters, since the draft hasn't happened and 2005 rosters

are not set. Didn't look at all time numbers. :-/

Ok. I thought you were talking about all time not just 2004 rosters. Considering we didn't even have any football team before 1997, it's pretty amazing how many kids from USF have gone on to the NFL.

As to the other newbies, I think we have a very good record against them. I know we are 2-0 against UConn, 2-1 v NT, 1-1 v UAB, 1-1 v Troy and 1-0 v FAU. I'm not sure about the rest of them.

This shows when people went 1-A or in ucf's case I-4 but when did they start football?

It's one thing to say a team went 1-A in 1998 and then went to a bowl the next year but, if they started football in 1972 then they have much more of a foundattion than we who went 1-A in 2001 but, didn't even play our first game before 1997.

Wild_Wild_West: I-4 ---  ;D Good eyes!

And as for "didn't even play our first game before 1997," I agree completely.

We are so young! In the college football world, we are like a baby in diapers.

This is why I'm seldom disappointed about our program. How can anyone in their right mind complain about our progress?

We should all be smiling every time the words "USF Football" is mentioned.

Howie... a better indicator of USF's NFL players would be how many have been on a roster during the regular season (practice squad counting). I think that takes off about 3/4 of our list. Saying you were in the NFL during camp and then getting cut is the equivalent of playing spring ball in college and then getting let go before the fall. You never even get to smell Raymond James field...

That would leave us Anthony Henry, KJ, Bill Grammatica, Scottie Mac, DRube, Ryan Benjamin, Kawika Mitchel, and JR Reed (I think Tony Umholtz... but not certain). Maybe Marquel Blackwell if I remember correctly for one game.

What's JR Reed's status? Is he getting better from his injury?

Then by your definition, I think you are missing some like Maurice Tucker, Shurron and Huey is still with an NFL team and playing in Europe right now.

Somebody else here might know how Reed is doing.

Guest ROLL TIDE

Troy State beat Marshall, UAB, #16 Missouri, lost to LSU 24-20 at LSU in the last two minutes, and lost to South Carolina in Columbia 17-7 in 2004.  Demarcus Ware went #11 in the draft today to the Cowboys and is compared to Lawrence Taylor (by Bill Parcels).  2005 Team is said to be better than 2004 team where the 3 of the 5 losses were 4 points or less.  This is a school with a main campus population of 8,000 students.
