FAU Hoops has received more pub over the past 3-4 days over this....maybe more so then when they went to the NCAA's (they were just one of 65 teams).

Smart/GREAT move on FAU's part...even if he is there for only 1-2 years...great way to JUMP start that program.

Actually, history has proven that the smart move isn't hiring Matt Dougherty it's who you hire after he prematurely departs not living up close to expectations.  Both ND, and UNC rebounded perfectly by picking up some more grounded a REAL EXPERIENCED coaches.  Matt's a wannabe to me and I give no man credit who fails at his last two stops.

If this is a great pick-up for FAU then some people have a skewed opinion of reality.  The only thing that FAU coaches can say is they hired an ex-UNC coach.  It would sound good if they omitted the part that his last season at UNC he led them to the worst record in 60 years!

He has a lot of credibility to make up.  He really botched up at UNC.
