I would have liked to see Nuñez back down Moore there. He has like 4-5 inches on him, you HAVE to take advantage of that mismatch.

Agree with all your points, but I think this gets this team to being regularly competitive but not dangerous. This team still plays terrible perimeter defense and we don't know what kind of lift we'll get next year with Peters and Holston back. Holston should elevate perimeter shooting and the turnovers should come down, but we will have a huge hole to fill next year on the frontline with Cousins gone and Perry's status uncertain.

We are playing horrible perimeter defense because we have to play zone defense so McMurray doesn't pass out from exhaustion chasing around their point guard. SMU knows how to beat the zone and there is nothing we can do about it really.

At least we will have some options. Guererro, Manderson, Da Silva all have NBA Center size. Baxter and Santos could play the position at this level against most teams.

sidenote: they are running us off our own court.

Guerrero is extremely limited offensively so if he is starting next year over either of the other two we are in big trouble.

He can be an offensive liability all he wants. At 6'11 I just want him to get into good position and rebound. At least we know what we are getting with him.

Other than recruiting McMurray, I am unable to think of any other positives that Antigua has accomplished in almost 2 years on the job.

Face it, Antigua sucks and should be fired!

What a train wreck!!!!!!!

Well last year we said the same about Guererro because he was playing very well. Peters was off to a rough start then injured and done. These kids fight, they just aren't winning. Of course you could make the point that it's his fault two of his players are hurt, Perry can't get his stuff together and was diagnosed with a heart issue last year, that CAJ broke league rules making him ineligible the last few games of last year, and that he has been trying to put together a piecemeal team.

Caliperi and the donors.

And the culture, and the atmosphere. And we haven't had enough consistency to gain either of those two things.

No doubt COA has faced his share of challenges and I think that will mitigate things as Harlan evaluates him at the end if the year. But the only thing you can sell the fan base at this point is hope, because under COA there has been zero substance.

Well said, even though the last half is as equally true as disheartening.

Point being if that was the brightest part of his resume (other than the Globetrotters)....

Harlan can't worry about selling anything to the "fan base" at this point. He needs to do what he think USF needs to build a program with more peaks than valleys. He's been around enough college basketball that he should be able to figure out how long he needs to give COA, everything considered.
