  1. Yeah, committee was a bad choice, not really what I meant. I just think based on info out of camp that CWT will likely have to juggle QBs until he finds the right chemistry and the best leader. Right now, it sounds like it's not there. Agree, though, that when he makes the decision, he'll likely try to stick with one as the starter. It may take a game or three to find it, though. To BJ's credit, he fixed some of the leadership issues his senior year, and I love how he looks in San Fran with his head up. But while at USF, he spent too much time wagging his head at teammates and hanging his head after making mistakes. Good leaders have a short memory, get back up and get the team going, which is what he did more of last year before injury.
  2. Not sure if serious..... Might be the trophy winner for most ignorant comment of the month. Hit a nerve, I see. So you guys feel BJ was always solid on the mental game, and that we won't be juggling QBs for a while this year? Penny for your thoughts, then...more than just insults would be GREAT! Hey, I love BJ, but you gotta be kidding if you feel he didn't get happy feet and make dumb passing decisions under pressure. Some of that might have been Skip's "pass first" mentality, but you can't pin all the INTs on the coach. Can't tell you how many times I saw him walking to the sideline with his head down.
  3. As long as the one he picks is progressing, but if his pick is out there making mental flubs that lead to turnovers, CWT will have no choice than to get someone else in there. He doesn't impress me as being so prideful he can't change his mind...at least I hope not.
  4. All I've heard CWT say about Floyd is about "correcting mistakes", so he's not shining out there. Definitely sounds like mental mistakes, and that crap is like a virus. That was most of BJ's problem, too, or he would have been the leader we needed (not all on the coach). Need to see some confidence and comfort out there, but none of them have it today. I'd bet on the starter being Floyd, but if he keeps demotivating coach, I think we'll see a QB by committee. There's a little turning in my stomach right now, just want SOMEone to emerge and give our O a second dimension!
  5. New to the board this year, and this absolutely breaks my heart. I lived in ATL for 16 years, never was able to find a group to meet up with! Just me and like one other guy I knew. Man, guess I lived in a bubble over in Gwinnett/Duluth, but I sure do miss Atlanta...except for the traffic and those looonng drives everywhere, lol. Have fun, Georgia bros!
  6. Lynch is definitely positive energy on the team. Several have mentioned his excitement and talent to back it up. Most of the positives I'm hearing out of camp are either for D-line & LB on defense, and TE/RB on offense. Other positions spoken about with "potential", but not solid yet. We have a way to go before being game-ready, but it's still not looking too shabby!
  7. Let's hope it's a W...fire up, guys, less than two weeks!
  8. I got it. Didja see what I did with it though?
  9. I'm filled with anticipation, but show me. No names, no hype, just play ball and do the work. THEN if it all plays out well, the names will come to us. You gotta like his confidence, though, having played with a pretty good D line at ND. Hope he's right.
  10. XXX I meant the photo... Maybe he did, too. But the admin will kill it pretty quick.
  11. Now that I've seen the whole drive, I gotta say it looks like he's definitely earned more playing time. Just about every throw was catch-able and as some said most were on the money. He made really good decisions, even the ones to take sacks. Neither McCoy nor Tolzien looked that sharp. Yes it was backup play, but they tried to put a lot of pressure on him and he came out smelling like a rose, capped by that perfect TD throw. Excellent job, great poise & execution. Glad to see they gave him the entire 4th Q, everyone looked very excited for him so I don't see how he doesn't get another shot next week. Great job, BJ!!
  12. I mean, hey, if you're going to pressure the guy, why not throw a few sharks in the mix too? What an awful training tool. LOL if he thinks one of our DLs is going to feel like a wave--should be training with waveRUNNERS, not waves.
  13. Taggart's comments about RBs has me more excited to see what they can do. Really relieved to see Shaw coming along so well, always had so much potential and reminds me of Warrick Dunn. Hearing the freshmen making a play for game time and making waves is great too. Having 4 RBs that can make CWT's grade sounds promising for our run game, and I think the addition of Lockette can only strengthen us there.
  14. Carlton just dropped a huge TD pass, odds not looking too good for him. Heard Kayvon is doing pretty good for the Broncos so far.
  15. Thanks, yeah, I had to buy the mug and I never do stuff like that!
  16. +1, way to make some lemonade out of spelling lemons, I love it. Skip made more than a few choaching decisions - lest we not forget the timeout management too. Don't think we'll see that lack of focus on CWT.
  17. Think playing time against the Vikes could be a better litmus test, since we're into the C-team defense by the 4th Q. Not taking anything away from BJ, though; that was awesome game management, great focus, and cold execution. BJ has always had moments of brilliance, it's consistency under pressure that's been his enemy, but all the adversity at USF has surely helped him mature. I really hope they give him that extra time, I'm very excited to see him get the shot, that's all he/we can ask for!
  18. Shaw has always had some impressive plays & moves back to his freshman season. His problem has been consistency, and I'm hoping some of that was due to the system. Great to hear they're all putting in hard work and working as a group. Keep going, guys!
  19. That's a good move to bring him in. Think it would be great to have JPP come in, too, but I know those guys are busy getting ready. Kids love to see the guys that "made it" come back & talk/give advice. Love the "embrace the suck" comment, probably timely about right now in camp.
  20. We've done a pretty smash-up job talking about all our concerns on the team, thought it would be fun for a change to talk about some of the stuff that looks great, going into the season. It's great to see the fans and the community get behind coach T. That's undoubtedly helped him build the staff and the system he envisioned, and kudos to the athletic dept for letting him get in the driver's seat and stay there (reference intended). I'm really looking forward to seeing the product hit the playing field. By all reports, I definitely like the D line, the LBs, our WR group, TEs, the drive and expertise of the coaching staff, and CWT's commitment to hard work. Anyone know some other areas that shine? I know some of you won't be able to resist the urge to bash other's takes, but please try to keep it positive out there! Go Bulls!
