  1. UNC is probably gone, agree on that. Not so sure Virginia goes. I would think UNC would be appealing to both SEC and Big 10, (maybe more than FSU or Clemson) Miami is interesting. I think the Big 10 wants into Florida, and Miami is probably the choice, but I am not sure Miami can buy itself out of the ACC, and may be stuck.
  2. You can't see the implied words? 17 regular season wins, plus possibly more wins in the postseason
  3. 17 regular season wins, plus maybe more depending on what happens in the post season.
  4. I should mention, I personally love noon kicks. I am also hoping Ok State at UCF is at 7, so I can go to both ...... but I spent too many years worrying about attendance, and I know noon kicks kill the crowd.
  5. I love the fact that going into November, there is still a mathematical possibility that USF will gets its first ACC win before UCF gets their first Big 12 win.
  6. We played years with 7 PM kicks and the Bucs at 1 the next day. It may impact how the field is painted, but if its not on TV, I'm not sure I care that much about the paint job.
  7. I tweeted this out over the weekend. I was at Wake on Saturday, loved their berm. (it was pretty steep, as was their seats, everything right on top of the field) .... side note, Wake was a 31,500 seat ACC stadium.
  8. This is one of my biggest complaint with the AAC's ESPN deal. If ESPN doesn't want to air the game on one of their 12 cable channels, then the home team should be able to pick the kick time. Making us play at noon, and no tv is wrong.
  9. 2003 I think or maybe 2004. I did merch for football for the 2004 season, and they were new that year.
  10. Athletics used to do the big sales at Fan Fest, problem is that our old Under Armor deal gave us lots of gear, our Adidas deal does not, so there hasn't really been much surplus. The last time we did it was dumping all the Under Armor stuff as that contract expired.
  11. Shield was around, introduced with the iconic U, President Genshaft asked for a cartoon bull in some form, when we went with the U as a secondary logo.
  12. That Marshall game was a game our fans didn't want to be in. We had come off 2 great seasons, we had lost 5 or 6 in a row, the team was falling apart. We had coaches fighting with players on the sidelines. No one was happy to be there. We won 1 FBS game in the last 3 years combined. Our fans should be happy to be there this time. That makes a huge difference. And 15,000 tickets sold for a Bowl game is awesome (I think we sold a lot less for that Marshall game). We have had bowl games where the sold number is 1500 or so. When we sell a small number, we take a financial hit.
  13. I agree, but also think the Big 12 is still an option, if the ACC stabilizes. The Big 12 isn't done expanding, and if they can't pull any ACC schools, I think we are a good fit there too.
  14. Onsale email today says tip time 1:30 PM* Then said * game time may change. The way they set up the ad, makes me believe we are the first game.
  15. One thing I'll say as a person who loves to travel. When college football players travel they don't get much of the experience of visiting a city. Their time is so regimented, not much time to explore or be a tourist. What it comes down to (in my opinion) that makes a Bowl game a better or worse destination is the activities the bowl sets up for the players. From this perspective, I think the Gasparillia Bowl is probably a pretty good destination. I also know money is tight, and much of a Bowl game payout to the school is in the form of tickets, so financially, staying home where we sell more tickets is a good thing for us. With all that said, I have no idea what Athletics (and football in particular) want, and how they feel about the home game.
  16. Fun Fact: every time USF has played at Army it was the site of ESPN's gameday, which I assume will continue, contractually. Our 1 trip up there, was also the day before the last every baseball game at the Vet. I was up in the cheap seats as I watched this lady spend the entire game trying to take apart her seat with a screwdriver to take it home with her.
  17. From a draw/ticket sales perspective, that is a very good schedule. (hope for lots of Saturday at 7 PM)
  18. The C isn't part of the name, I just copied a piece that noted we were the champions of that particular year. I was just referencing the use of Atlantic in the name.
  19. Last time USF had a block (at full price) .... I can suggest following the Orange Bowl on social media, as last year they ran lots of sales (buy one get one free). If you want the absolute best seat, no matter the cost, go ahead and buy. If not, you will be advised to wait. (USF vs. UF was in a 80% empty building)
  20. When we played in it 2 years ago we tipped at 1 PM (second game was 3:30 I think, but it was canceled due to Covid)
  21. Just to correct/add to this, That is what our league was called, but it was full of ACC schools. (you can see ACC in the name)
  22. Years ago, USF was in the ACC for softball, because C-USA didn't sponsor, and the ACC needed programs because not enough of their schools played it. (that was early days of C-USA and Miami was in the Big East at that time. I'm not really adding anything important, just saying not everyone plays softball.
  23. We were 1-11 last year. We are 4-4 this year. After the last 3 years where we averaged .333 wins a year against FBS teams, we really should be thrilled with all wins.
