  1. Are we confirmed for CBSSN already? Last I checked they had Temple/Army at noon and UCF/Navy at 3:30 on that day. Maybe that changed or they show different games based on region? Regardless, I completely agree that a 3:30 EST kick would be ideal. If it's a noon game I imagine a lot of us will be struggling.
  2. I mentioned in a different thread that I heard 3 USF football commercials on FM radio (102.5) in a one hour time period a few weeks back. I think it was the day after the Temple game. Unfortunately, while the commercial itself wasn't bad, it ended by encouraging people to buy tickets for the Illinois game which had already been played. It's possible the radio station just played the wrong commercial but it didn't have the impact that we were looking for from a ticket purchase standpoint. Don't think I've heard another commercial since then.
  3. I agree with the above and if they could guarantee a win I'm sure more of the P5 schools would be interested in playing us in one and done deals. The problem is they can't guarantee a win against us and for many of those P5 schools there's a good chance they lose so why take the risk? I'm all for the idea of getting better opponents on our schedule, even if we have to make one and done deals to make it happen. I just don't think the caliber of school we'd like to play has any incentive to choose us in the current environment.
  4. I think the challenge is that while we're not considered a "quality" opponent per the P5 standard, there's still a decent chance that we beat some of these P5 schools that we'd like to have one and done deals with. From their standpoint, they are better off either paying a Louisiana-Lafayette level school for a guaranteed win or taking a chance against a "quality" opponent so that a loss doesn't hurt them as bad. It sucks for us but I'm guessing that it actually is easier for Sunbelt and CUSA teams to get those one and done paydays.
  5. I agree with this. While I have a hard time not cheering against UCF, I want us to play as many meaningful games as possible and this scenario would make for one heck of a meaningful game for both teams.
  6. The fact that their fans are so obnoxious is one of the main reasons why my wife and I attend this game every time. There has been plenty of discussion here about whether UCF should be considered our rival and everyone has their own opinion about that subject. However, I can tell you that for me it is hard to beat the feeling of walking out of their stadium after beating them. Rival or not, I love the passion and animosity that is shared between our football programs and am excited that it appears this year's game might be a make or break for both teams. I would assume the team comes back to Tampa after the game since it's only a 90 mile drive but I don't have any first hand knowledge of that.
  7. It's not a matter of the math being hard, it's a matter of the math not making sense in all situations. There are sections in Ray Jay where the individual game price for season tickets is less than the cost of a ticket for the UCF game. Should we expect USF to eat that difference when they have already provided a very easy way for people to buy tickets for the UCF game? I'm all for having more green in the stands at that game but just don't think this was a logical way to make that happen.
  8. No love for Baker here but I can't completely disagree with some of his points. While I don't think there's any doubt USF is a better team (yes, I have my green goggles on today), UCF is certainly better than I thought they would be this year and their schedule has afforded them the opportunity to prove themselves against better competition. The good news is that we will get the chance to prove that we are indeed better than this UCF team that he thinks so highly of. In the meantime we just need to keep winning.
  9. Everyone realizes that you are still able to order tickets through USF for the game in Orlando, right? I don't get why some folks are bashing our own school for not offering an option that would likely be a logistical challenge when anyone who wants tickets for the UCF game still has the ability to order them. If you're worried about how many USF fans are going to show up for that game but you let this "missing" option keep you from attending then you probably aren't actually that worried about it. I was glad to see that they actually gave us options, including option C which will hopefully help get more people in the stadium for our home games.
  10. Thanks for putting this together. My wife and I plan to join the stampede. Looking forward to a fun weekend and a big Bulls win.
  11. I was listening to 102.5 The Bone. I think I have only ever heard one other USF radio commercial so was strange to hear three in such a short period of time and unfortunate that it was obviously an old commercial that should have been updated or at least pulled out of rotation. It started as general promotion about how we're a big time football program despite only having 20 years of history and ended with the mention of the Illinois game. I have no knowledge or experience with writing commercials but I assume it wouldn't be that difficult to update the last ten seconds to include the appropriate game. Again, could be radio station error for all I know but made me shake my head.
  12. During my 45 minute commute home from the office yesterday I heard a USF football commercial play on the radio three times. Unfortunately, this specific commercial ended by encouraging people to buy tickets to our game against Illinois, which was obviously two games ago. Not sure if that was oversight on the part of the radio station but wasn't the best look for our brand.
  13. I'm curious to see how the UCiF vs MD game shakes out. Hoping MD stomps them but should give us an idea of what UCiF has to offer regardless. Guessing there are a bunch of temporary Terps fans on this board today.
  14. The Krewe of Boo is doing their Halloween themed parade on the same day as our game at 6:30pm. Obviously wouldn't work if we have a later kickoff but might be worth checking out if we play early in the day. http://www.kreweofboo.com/
  15. Did you have to call to get a refund back to your credit card? I cancelled online but appears that I only got Jet Blue credit, not refund to my credit card unless that part is delayed for some reason. I wasn't sure what the options would be since only half the round trip was cancelled.
  16. chrisdashley -- think we're on the same Jet Blue flight up and back on Saturday. The unknown with the storm is getting my wife anxious about making the trip and she might push to cancel since Jet Blue is waiving fees but if we end up going we'll join you for drinks after the game.
  17. Our tickets arrived yesterday too. Section 137 as expected. We'll see some of you at the airport in Tampa and some of you at the stadium. Looks like a high of 70 in East Hartford on Saturday so we're excited to get away from the heat of FL, even if only for a day.
  18. Since when is asking for more fan support considered a jab? Admittedly I didn't see the whole press conference but his quote in the article acknowledged the fans that did show up and asked for everyone else to get on board. Unless I missed it he didn't call out anyone who did attend the game nor did he directly link attendance to team performance. He just wants more butts in seats and can any of us blame him for that? I think we can all agree that the performance on the field thus far has not been what we expected but should that prevent CCS from asking for people to show up and support the team? Regardless of whether you think attendance and team performance are related, It's a win for everyone if he's able to motivate more people to buy tickets and show up. No issue from my perspective.
  19. My wife and I made the trip out to San Jose and I was able to convince her while we were there to book the up and back Jet Blue flight so we will be there too. We haven't booked the alumni tailgate yet but thinking that's probably the easiest option to get breakfast and a few drinks before the game so we'll see you guys there. Looks like we won't have a problem getting up there but Irma might make getting home interesting.
