  1. FWIW some think that hiding his car keys or offering him free Publix subs for life might be more effective ways to keep him.
  2. Wasn’t sure I’d ever see it. What a day! Football is NEXT
  3. Fair enough. Not entirely true, but maybe mostly true? Agreed it’s a good deal, especially this season!
  4. Let's be real. Old people are the only ones who can afford court-side season tickets. Students are broke because they're students, and can generally get in for free anyways. Young adults and middle-aged folks are broke because they're paying for their kids' video games and college tuition. Hence, old people. I, for one, am grateful they come out and help fund athletics.
  5. He's a gifted coach. Nothing wrong with showing appreciation to the ultimate source of those gifts, which is all I think he's doing.
  6. I don’t deny that any sane AD in the continental U.S. (maybe Hawaii too, don’t know if there are any ADs in Alaska) should be interested in AAR. I could be wrong, but I very much doubt he leaves after this year, regardless of interest.
  7. I generally agree with this, except: we are about as likely to join the SEC as Boise State is to join the ACC. Even a watered-down, post-apocalypse version of the ACC that expands west. Memphis is also very unlikely to ever join the ACC.
  8. Maybe some people online. But I live here, and most FSU fans I know are currently of the mind, "oh, look at that, USF is having a good year" instead of "we need to poach their coach!" FWIW.
  9. Sorry to hear it. Just sent him an email.
  10. FWIW I think USF to the ACC is happening sooner than everyone is expecting. FSU is likely to settle its lawsuit sometime this year, before August, in time to join the B1G or SEC in 2026. USF will replace FSU in the ACC within that same timeframe. Do I have a source? Not really. Just a hunch.
  11. This is the train I'm on. I very much doubt we're ever invited to the B1G, but the mere thought experiment of jumping FSU and UCF into the P2 is delightful. A man can dream.
  12. Yeah of all the crazy scenarios out there, this one is the craziest IMHO. Never gonna happen. This guy just wants WVU to play ACC teams.
  13. UCF’s academics suck and it signed a GOR with the Big 12. On the other hand, USF is an AAU school in a larger market, and it’s available tomorrow via payment of a relatively small exit fee. if the ACC is anything like the current ACC post FSU exit, USF would get the invite over UCF. Not worried at all.
  14. I’m a little late to the party but yes, Merry third day of Christmas, enjoy your
  15. They’ll sue but the goal is to force a settlement that lets them out of the ACC and the GOR. I’m a little concerned that aggression by state politicians could hurt USF’s prospects after FSU’s exit. If I’m the ACC, do I really want to bring in another state school after all this unpleasantness with state officials?
  16. Right. Hilarious if FSU does all this to play in a conference with equal or less money and definitely a weaker SOS. I think they’d go indie before that, like ND.
  17. Does anyone know why the Big 12 deal with UConn fell apart? Curious to know how that same issue might scuttle a potential ACC expansion to include UConn.
  18. What kind of crap stadium is USF building anyways? One that accommodates fake people only? Such a USF thing to do (Just following the leitmotif of this thread)
  19. I had Directv for about 20 years and last year, at the insistence of my brother-in-law, finally cut the cord and subscribed to YouTubeTV. Has everything Directv had for a little less than half the cost, and has a better phone app which allows me to watch TV pretty much anywhere (useful when I'm out shopping with my wife some Saturday mornings). I subscribe separately to Bally's, which is a little more, but still a huge savings.
