  1. The search firm can't verify it, by ******* law. The search firm can't verify it, by ******* law. Hasn't this been covered in every thread today?
  2. What did they say? Tim Tebow went to the mall today. Our story got bumped.
  3. Every job I have ever been offered the background check is done after at least an informal offer is made and often after a formal offer is received. There are lots of reasons for this, most notably that you are likely interviewing for multiple positions. Background checks are a formality generally and as long as you are a liar, a thief, or a dead beat you really don't have much to worry about. In competitive positions if you insist on vetting every canddidate before you offer them a job you'll find most folks have already accepted another opportunity before you call. Relax, USF did the right thing in the right way. If Doug were still around we'd have already signed this guy and have to pay him for the next three years anyway! My background checks at both HCC and USF (state institutions) were not done until after I had received my letter of offer and signed a release.
  4. I agree with this -- I'm not going to fault Pitino here. If someone you're that close to tells you that he graduated, then you believe him. Albeit unlikely, there's even a chance that Masiello did something dumb like obtained enough credits, but never applied to graduate and this caught him off guard, which, of course, opens another can of worms in the realm of decision making ability. Either way, it doesn't look great for Masiello, which sucks for him. I just don't think you can fault Pitino for this one. I read the ESPN article that says he immediately called the UK registrar's office, which makes me believe the situation is probably something like the above. But you'd have to wonder why the guy didn't think it was funny that he never actually received a diploma to hang in his office. Fishy, I like our decision even if he simply made a bone-headed assumption. Can't we just hire him as an assistant and sign him up for summer classes? Promote him to head coach in about 5 months.
  5. I am not sure what everyone is so upset about - this is the most professional our Athletic Department has looked sense Doug Woolard took over. I'm not sure if I'm happy about that being true or sad.
  6. I'd lock more than just this thread with Litton around. Zing!
  7. The only way we win the PR war on this one is to leak the red flag.
  8. BC and Wake are the two happiest schools in the country right now.
  9. Skip Holtz passed his background check with flying colors.
  10. I know that for other levels of employment at USF (faculty, staff, admin), you are given a letter of offer that begins the process before you get a contract.
  11. Aside from looking like a cross between the 1984 Denver Nuggets and a bowl of vomit, the fact that UA declared they were inspired by "South Beach" sealed the deal for me.
  12. I've been looking for a pair. I'd rock those shorts on the daily. Anyone who likes those shorts is definitely in need of a pair. lulz anybuddy dat don' like 'em is jus' too OLD!!! They're a crime against nature.

  14. In honor of the new coach, Under Armour should burn every single one of those So-Flo abominations they've made us wear the past couple years.
  15. Because finishing near the bottom of the conference or in last place from the top of our high horse is so much more rewarding... I'm channeling my inner Bull Daly. You need more exclamation points when posting. Scumbag!
  16. Downtown Tampa might have the single worst nightlife of any metro area in the top 50 in the country. It hasn't picked up with all the residential going in down there now? Nope. Seminole Heights has seen 10x the nightlife growth in the past 5 years.

  18. There's a nightlife in Louisville? Or was he spotted at the local tractor pull? You making the statement proves one thing to me......You've never been to Louisville. Great nightlife and town. Tractor Pull comment is original though. Thanks for that. Thats a given if you have anything negative to say about the city. Losing you guys as a road trip stings.
  19. Bigger problem maybe that he is not married or settled down. Regular at MOns? Uh Oh. Yeah, because only single guys go to Mons. Just saying it is more likely not that is given for every situation. I 100% disagree that nudie bars are predominantly young, single men.
  20. Holy ****, is this argument still going on?
