    It's not a particularly good or interesting story. Basically, it's someone trying too hard. You know how when you're at a Rays game and you think, "Cowbells are pretty dumb, why do we have those?" Same idea, only less popular.

    He would have been hired instead of Holtz ... during skip we were paying jim too i thought Leach and Holtz were getting the same pay to start with. Money isn't/wasn't a factor in our not hiring Leach.

No offense to Ricky at all, but a "mom of a player" may not know the entire story there ... Ricky (a guy who spends an infinite amount of time more around the program than pretty much everyone on this board) seemed to think his source was worth quoting. Coupled with the total lack of discipline on display last year, I'd say its at least possible.

    This is something new? Every team I was a member of growing up had this as a repercussion to false starting or offsides. Skip gave the guys hugs. Maybe Wullf instituted this... Our "most penalties in FBS" came under Taggart You've got it wrong. Once Holtz left, he still ran practices through the entire Spring, Summer, and Fall. There was nothing CWT could do to stop it.

    LOL at the downvote ... guess I picked the wrong person to joke about ... Nobody downvotes the post, they downvote the poster. Someone just wanted to cast their 1 for the day. In my case, you are probably spot on. slick has been ignoring me for a year and still hits me at least 3 times a week.

    Penalties come down to discipline and coaching. It's an area we can easily improve that has nothing to do with talent. Glad to see we're addressing it.
