    We are about as close to AAU status right now as we are to building an OCS. It's been in USF's official strategic plan since at least 2007 and in that time we haven't even been nominated for a vote on consideration.

    Really? Part-time students can walkon and practice just like full-time scholarship students? Could USF pay for the HCC books and tuition? Room and board? If not, who is paying for the kids at Marshall's prep school? I'm guessing kids in that situation would have a very difficult time paying their own way. No idea on the room and board, tuition, etc. but USF can let whoever they want "practice" with the team. Remember UT women's basketball had a men's team at practice that worked out and scrimmaged? What's the difference? Those guys were right there hearing the exam same instruction, using the same facilities, but not playing in games.

    How is that a loophole? If a kid couldn't qualify and went to HCC here in town to raise his grades, he wouldn't lose a year of eligibility either. As long as he was taking one class at USF as a non-degree seeking student, he coukd work out with the team and then upon later acceptance his class would count towards his degree.

Definitely working for them from a recruiting standpoint, though.This **** is just as sad coming from us as our bashing Miami's discipline problems. My post was not intended as a shot at Marshall; it's just what they are doing - quite successfully. I don't begrudge them for it but it's been widely discussed and I don't think you can just ignore that it's why they are pulling highly touted guys. It was absolutely intended as a shot at Marshall and an attempt to pretend we have an academic standard to brag about.

We have our fair share of academically challenged players (and criminals) and to pretend Marshall, or someone else, is out recruiting us because they have lower standards makes us look pathetic. Give players a reason to come to USF, don't make excuses why they don't.

    Marshall is doing something right. If we could pull half the talent at QB they have over the years, we'd be in good shape. And who can blame a kid for looking at their offense and the ours and deciding they'd like to catch 2 TDs in a game here or there over 2 TDs in a season.

    What? FSU to the Big 12. The Twitter guys said te announcement was supposed to be about 2 years ago slick also said Wake Forest was going to leave the ACC because they don't want to spend money on athletics.

    11. Five for the Canes and three each for the Noles and Gators. Wow I never realized the Gators have only won 3 NC's. The way their fans boast, they make it seem as they've won at least twice as many as the Canes That's because they've all been in the last 20 years when the fans you've met wee likely in school and/or following.
