  1. I understand you're just trying to save face at this point, but come on. Talk about embarrassing. This quote could be put into any thread he's currently participating in.
  2. Even the Cubs haven't been selling out in August/September the past few years. The Sox don't matter, even when they won they were irrelevant in Chicago. http://m.espn.go.com/general/blogs/blogpost?blogname=chicagojon-greenberg&id=196&city=chicago&src=desktop "But fans are rightly getting impatient, or maybe just annoyed, with the poor product at the major league level. And they're not showing up, which leads to a cheaper product."
  3. Yeah, I think actually being on TV vs streamed is worth more to a fan base. Don't you? My ISP has been shoddy since Feb. I've had 3 outages the past week. And even when ESPN3 is working, its not the most reliable PQ always, popping in and out of HD. NBC Sports has a great 1080i picture. Almost 100 million homes have access. Except that USF will be on real TV (not including ESPN3) at least 4 times this year alone, but likely more. The Ivy league will broadcast a total of 6-10 games for the entire league. Thats not even getting into the financials. I'll happily take our deal over theirs. Thanks to CBS picking up games from ESPN, yes, USF gets on TV 2 more times this year so far. And other networks picked up Ivy League games. And you don't know the financials of their deal, it wasn't released. I would have rather seen USF go to NBC Sports. Remember, this was their offer that ESPN simply matched and for whatever reason the AAC went with ESPN. ESPN is just a tool of the P5. NBC could have been more of a tool to help the AAC. So if the financials weren't released, how can you argue the Ivy League's deal is better when you've also admitted USF gets more TV exposure than any Ivy League school? Harvard alone last year had 4 televised games, on Fox RSN and NBC Sports, along with another one on ESPN3 (guess you can say 5 total televised) and most of the rest on their own digital network. So no, USF didn't get more exposure on TV than any Ivy League School, at least not last season. http://www.gocrimson.com/sports/fball/2013-14/schedule I can't believe I'm getting sucked into this. Count the games, slick. Harvard had 3 games on NBC Sports. 1 on Fox Sports. 3 on the Ivy Digital Network. 1 on ESPN3. That's a total of 4 on real TV, 4 online. 8 if you count them all up. USF had 5 games on various ESPN networks. 5 on ESPN3. That means 5 on real TV and 5 online. 10 total. 10 > 8 Just stop. Or at least try and turn this into a concussion thread again. You were doing better at arguing that.

The same way you can argue it isn't. But, truth be told, I was watching Ivy League games on NBC Sports and various regional networks. I didn't know how many they had aired. And I prefer TV over the Internet for reliability and overall quality. I'll play along. Lets say the Ivy League gets more money (which is absolutely ******* ridiculous to even suggest, but sure, I'll go for it). They still get a substantially lower amount of games on both TV and the internet. USF, one school in an entire conference, is guaranteed to get 66.6% of the total guaranteed exposure of the entire Ivy League. How is this is even up for debate?
  5. why is tampa such a bad sports town? Same as LA. Too many other entertainment options. Compare it to Norman, Tuscaloosa, Ann Arbor, etc. terrible comparison, no pro teams there... What about Dallas, San Fransisco, Denver, and Pheonix? Great cities, lots of entertainment, but also great fan bases. Thanks for making my point. Bandwagon fans all. None of those cities support losing teams. Can we make a list of cities that DO support losing teams?

  8. You also said the Ivy League deal was worth more than the AAC deal.
  9. I didn't read 3 pages, I read the thread title and first post and responded to it. I guess by definition I am the only one that stayed on topic. And no, my argument is that IF these issues don't end football, its lasted for 125 years, will last for at least that long into the future and that to say that USF will NEVER return to relevance in CFB is ridiculous. But maybe if I had messaging enabled, we could have this discussion in private and come to an understanding instead of in the thread. The Ivy League dominated the first 100 years of college football and have never returned to relevance. Just sayin' Unbelievable. They are extremely relevant to their fan base. WHO CARES how relevant they are outside of the fan base? Someone must. I think they have a better TV contract than the AAC. That was a rhetorical question. And his point is spot on. I know it was rhetorical but it was inaccurate. The Ivy league has more on TV time than the AAC and their own merchandising deals. And they are the richest schools in America and when it comes to this subject, money is everything. http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/colleges/Ivy-League-strikes-major-national-television-deal-with-NBC-Sports-Network.html The reason they are the richest schools in America has absolutely nothing to do with their merchandising and TV contracts. And that TOTAL coverage contract doesn't even broadcast as many games as USF will get this year on its own. A minimum of 6 football games (but no more than 10). Same for basketball. No more than 4 lacrosse games. You're not even trying anymore slick.
  10. Both Bench and White have more than talent than those two. we shall see if they can win more than other two bench will be stunned if he doesnt win it a junior from penn state that cant start at usf!.. i wouldnt be surprised if he quit the team White is not the sturdiest guy. Bench knows he's one mean hit away from playing (or, if White falters, he's in). I don't see Bench, as a junior, leaving for another school. Now, if he graduates this & can leave without sitting out, and get a Masters? Maybe. White is BIGGER (and taller) than Johnny Manziel and Teddy Bridgewater, FYI comes down to the O-line, can they protect our QB taller...not sure about sturdier. And, those guys are more mobile, and be better at avoiding getting drilled standing still (althought Lattimore sure planted Teddy B last year). No doubt we need OL to protect, but my point is: Bench is just one hard hit away from being the starter. P.S. Caveat: I hear White packed on some muscle, but I've not seen him, so I can't speak to his current state. I remember thinking White looked a bit scrawny last year, definitely not the case this year seeing in him in person. The reports of his packing weight on are accurate.
  11. Stumbled across the exact same thing, Spring 2006. Weird coincidence.
  12. No idea. I assume a hanging gets listed as asphyxia if the person died from suffocation, rather than a broken neck. Hanging probably isn't a legal/medical term.
  13. Well, for starters, you can't be nice to it.
  14. I think any suffocation is technically asphyxia.
  15. Just so you are aware, I wasn't really srs about that. You're dead to me.
  16. That's too hard for anyone to explain. It's much easier explaining winning a BCS bowl and Conference (the first year as a member) than EP's death. For the life of me, I can't explain that complete failure of a BCS experment in Temple Terrace. What cost UCF more, the unsold tickets your fans didn't buy for the Fiesta Bowl or paying off EP's family?
  17. Slow down. We're trying to get into a better conference?!? This **** just got real.
  18. A third and fourth Evan Wilson dad emerges... Joey looks to young to have kid that old ..... And is the younger Eveld completely out of the qb picture now? He's still listed as on, I believe ... He wasn't in a red jersey Saturday. Or maybe he was...depends on my credibility.
  19. Some people like Justin Bieber music too. What's your point? If Leavitt was nice to all the media then maybe the slap scandal never causes his firing. Admit it. You have no idea what "social media" is, do you?
