  1. I know it's a crap shoot, but I wonder if we'd be willing to take a big boy step forward and hire Davis as HC with Taggart as a top coordinator/recruiting specialist. Sure, it would cost us a lot of money and I'm not saying Taggart would go for it, but it would make for a nice coach-in-waiting situation if all parties were amicable toward the idea. Again... crap shoot... I fully understand this.
  2. Good article. Tx for posting. I'm sold. Hope we get him. Great read. Sign him now, please.
  3. I agree with you; honestly, I have no problem with him doing both jobs until WKU finishes their bowl game. I've continued to work for previous employers for months after I already transitioned into a hire paying job just to ease the transition. Heck, I've done it at no cost to the former employer, as well, just to maintain good terms. There's no way that he can't work on recruiting and staffing while still preparing a bunch of teenagers to throw/run a ball around a field. Leave some staff there to run practices, fly to tampa and do what you need to do and fly back to WKU when you need to do it. With the money that is involved in something like this, a few extra plane trips should be no problem.
  4. If he is going to be our coach, we're going to have to learn to spell the man's name. We're rocking something around 40% accuracy around here. T-A-G-G-A-R-T
  5. The guy certainly has been doing this for awhile with stops in 90s Miami and some of Auburn's better seasons. Looks like he's always been positionally, though.
  6. Most recent rumor has Strong staying at UL. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/8710353/report-charlie-strong-expected-stay-louisville-cardinals
  7. I think the fact that DW knows his job is on the line is one of the better things we have going for us. A hungry Doug is the best Doug.
  8. Would it still be worth it to you if it meant possible probation for a minor violation? I like the guy and think he should be able to coach again. I think he should be able to coach again right now, in fact. NCAA, though, has stupid rules and has placed some of them against him for lying to them. He could inadvertently do something wrong and NCAA might come down hard against him and the school -- especially as they grow more and more power hungry with their penalties. Wait until they are finished with their witch hunt in Miami (telling former players they must meet with NCAA officials or they will be considered guilty? come on?) ... they'll be in full on power trip mode, then.
  9. Tressel has a show cause penalty, not a show clause and it's a far bigger pain than it's being made out to be. It requires semi-annual reports from the coach and the institute and an acceptance of penalties that will be given to the school for just hiring the coach. The penalties can be appealed by appearing in front of a NCAA committee and presenting a case, but it's definitely not a sure thing and you have to have a legitimate reason. If the coach commits an additional penalty during his stay with the school, the school can be hit with severe penalties. It's not worth it.
  10. The only thing that would excite me less than Cristobal would be AD rehiring Skip and giving him his old salary AND a new salary.
  11. UL has an amazing AD, athletics program and facilities -- I wish them nothing but the best wherever they may go. Also, thank you for not towing my car when I illegally parked it on campus to catch a bus to the derby, forgot about it and left it over night. I apologize... I was drunk.
  12. Stetson is restarting their football program, as well.
  13. Three words, Vincent Kennedy McMahon. Rocky D. Bull against Pirate Pete in a cage match at the next Royal Rumble. POY candidate.
  14. All aboard the mope train. Mope mope mope mope. I wish we could keep playing, but I imagine you're taking your ball with you too? And this time you mean it?
  15. Agreed. Here is the contact page for the White House. Make sure to let POTUS know as well. http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact
  16. This ad keeps showing up on my facebook page. I'm not sure who CFU is supposed to be, but I don't know of many institutes that use the CFU abbreviation. I'm thinking it's some serious disrespect being shown to the college to the east. Either way, I'd have to say that USF is better than the mythical school of CFU.
  17. Don't worry they can always fall back on that SEC invite they have in their back pocket! "We're an SEC program stuck in CUSA" ... Still one of the all time classics. O_o Did someone actually say that?
  18. @MattFloyd11 qb from country side , I don't think he's too good but if holtz looking at him he can't judge talent in my opinion JStat_9 7 minutes ago via TweetCaster in reply to MattFloyd11
