  1. I want to hear about VH!!! It's the only reason I click this thread.
  2. Why don't they write the contract to include "losing season" as cause?
  3. http://stholeary.blo...espn-smear.html This is why I recently decided to not watch ESPN anymore except for an actual game broadcast.
  4. You'd think they'd have realized there was a problem during rehearsal, unless of course they didn't have one.
  5. I would rather USF be in the ACC than BIgXII. Also what happens to BigXII when OU and UT leave in a decade? 4 teams have already left the bigXII in about the last 3 years so they seem just as toxic as the Big East. I just wish all of the Big East teams had the will power to stick together. If the new Big East could stay together for a decade I think the conference would surpass the ACC.
  6. People post so many tweets on this board I don't even need my own twitter account.
  7. I'm really surprised, 2 million/year is what A&M is paying their new coach Sumlin, who they hired from Houston. Crazy to think USFs coach is earning as much as a coach at a school such as A&M. Football is just on a whole different level at Taxas A&M. Last year I think every single game was a sell out of about 88,000 and their budget I believe is a few times that of USF. Holtz has it good here. I'm glad USF is offering competitive salaries.
  8. Well in the case of my cousin's daughter, at 7 she loves it and she's definateky ready for competition. It's easy to see. They may not keep score on a scoreboard but they definitely do keep it to themselves. The team he and another dad coach together win about all of their games except against one specific team he tells me has this star player who apparently has amazing ability for her age so nobody can stop her and the team basically dominates everyone else. From what I've seem I would say some kids are definitely ready for a highly competitive league. The parents on the other hand, well not so much. They're likely the ones that make it overly stessful on their children and themselves, and they're the ones who introduce the politics. My cousin is so laid back though I don't really see that in him.
  9. That's kinda cool. Not everybody needs to play competitively. I'm very glad that some do, since I get to watch them perform. For me, I just want to get out there and do my best. Win or lose, I'm just going to have fun doing it. Don't really care about the score, and when I get teamed with a real competitor, nobody has a good time. Me, because he wants to win at all costs, nor him, since I want to have fun at all costs. There's room for both kinds of people, just not on the same team at the same time. Yes, it's pretty cool. The kids all have tons of fun. I've been to three of the games. The score doesn't really matter so much, you can see the kids that give effort and the ones that don't and i don't think assigning winners and losers would change that. All the parents cheer if their child's team scores and the kids smile. But trust me when I tell you even at seven his daughter is very competitive. She beams the ball harder than anyone out there and kids duck sometimes after she kicks it. Some of the girls are aggressive and some aren't. Now he has the challenge of choosing a goalie without hurting anyone's feelings since more than one girl wants the position. You should hear when he talks with the other dads. They're so competitive and caught up in how to beat this one team it's comical.
  10. Yes I used outside information not in the article to draw my conclusion. This is first and second hand anecdotal evidence that many police have huge egos and if not catered to they become over zealous jerks. Rereading my posts I realize my grammar and sentences sometimes come out terrible trying to post from an iphone.
  11. If cops asked him to leave maybe an arrest was warranted depending on how he responded. Maybe similar to domestic. Jolene, if cops are called they MUST arrest someone. It's just the way it is sometimes, but from what it says, arguing, drunk, animated. I wouldn't hold it against the guy. Go downtown Orlando and there are lots of animated drunk folks and plenty of drunk arguments. I don't think most get arrested. Just thrown around by bouncers.
  12. Will be interestIng to see if our strategy changes any from last year. Will we still smother the opponent with our defense or try to find a little more balance with more offensive weapons?
  13. Needs the death penalty. Need to be made clear that unethical actions taken to protect a sports program will not be tolerated. The whole reason for not reporting this molester and allowing this to go on was to protect their reputation and more specifically of the football program. Do the right thing, show them that grossly unethical and immoral actions taken to protect a sports program, reputation, or employee will not be tolerated. The NCAA is supposed to uphold the integrity of college athletics. Those controlling this program are completely lacking of integrity! Only way to send that message is with the death penalty. A cover up of this sort to protect a coach is so ridiculously lacking of any ethics top to bottom. TOP TO BOTTOM members of the institution were allowing these horrible crimes against children to protect a coach. I would think covering up felonies of coaches and staff is punishable by the NCAA. They punish about lieing to them about recruiting. I mean seriously c'mon folks! The program was allowing children to be molested for a decade. Coaches, staff, the university president... And you think they don't deserve the death penalty just because it didn't involve an athlete????
  14. My cosin coaches his 7 year old daughters soccer team. In their league they didn't even keep score yet and there were no goalies. He said next season is the age when they start keeping score and add a goal keeper.
  15. It's certainly not bad he's wearing a USF hat, he's likely a big USF fan, I mean he's from Tampa and his dad coaches here. But when it comes to where he should go play football, he has to consider more things than just his fandom and that other places may be able to offer him something USF can't. He has things to consider like academics, location, does he gel with the staff and other players, play time, overall competitiveness of the team, etc. Where he ends up will depend on how much weight he places on these different things. I do think him sporting USF at this prominent event is a very positive sign that we're at least one of his top candidates.
  16. As long as one team wins and one team loses, I don't care, give them all trophies. The difference between winning and losing should be enough, not some dumb trophy. Just make sure your child knows that the score board is the only thing that matters at the end with integrity being the only thing more important.
