  1. the big 12 will sooner or later realize the whole good/bad at sports thing is almost impossible to judge at this point, because all of the traditional blue blood schools are already in a larger conference. hence the whole pitt/syracuse and rutgers/maryland stuff, have they been good, sure. are they recently? mehhh. the big 12s only real lock of sustained successes is the only school that they have massive challenges bringing on board because of external reasons (read; BYU and religious rules, unless going football only). at some point, potential IS going to have to be something they settle for as a good reason to look at/rank schools, because you can either go for a school you know will fall flat, or a school that has the potential to be better/bigger, but if it falls flat, then well, every conference needs a rutgers (at least kansas has good hoops).
  2. Classic initial self-proclaiming speech. Anyone can tout what they do and make it sound cool. Put it up against stats from some other viable options (i.e. not Memphis or Cincinnati, they're a totally different comparison), and then see how they stack up. In any case, I still think if it ever happened, it would be both schools. Let's give it 2-3 years and see how that athletic graduation rates look when you have new coaches in men's hoops and football. Scott Frost isn't old man O Leary holding "Study Sessions for 2 Star Athletes" every Friday.
  3. out of context a bit, but LOL that everyone went all 'PAWWWWLLLLLLLL' on it
  4. Well, if Jamie Dixon picked the basketball powerhouse of TCU over Pitt because alumnus, then I would think Pitt alumnus Antigua might consider leaving the powerhouse of USF basketball FOR Pitt.
  5. Let's hope the geniuses at sEc$PN don't move the UCF game to Thursday night again.
  6. Let's hope we can continue with our slick Willie offense, and a good stiff woodie defense.
  7. Perhaps we can convince Wally Burnham to un-retire (I think) for us if Allen leaves. Otherwise, we'll find someone, as long as we don't run a 3-4.
  8. whiff. ECU strapped for cash or something? this is so odd of a situation. I heard the Boneyard was melting down, and quite unhappy with the AD.
  9. pump the brakes. he's probably going to be a pretty good coach. he will recruit some great and fast players. but usf has fast players too. on defense. and the oregon offense can be stopped. let's let it play out. you can be excited but there's like 345 more days or something until we'll know anything (vs usf).
  10. We can make our own Shi Tpa Town (see this past season of South Park).
  11. Ecu seems to have a mindset like a team that has been a blue blood winning program. Too high expectations, but that's on them. Good luck lol
  12. country music sucks so bad their awards show is on a Wednesday. It is the winless genre, and knightro fits right in lol
  13. That is some BS, lol. UF just loves tilting the advantage any way it can, like having 8 home games some years and never leaving the state to play OOC.
  14. definitely a bit much. i think the pink movement has jumped the shark honestly. the problem for me is i associate the pink and october with the evil corporation of komen, which has come to represent all the wrost with this "awareness" stuff.
  15. And the Citrus Bowl isn't a home stadium of any university. I don't think a neutral site game in Ray Jay would be well received by USF brass - the Outback Bowl is okay since it's a bowl. I would cringe at UF/Miami or FSU/Miami playing in RJS.
  16. With the way attendance is trending overall, we should just build a 40K'er and be done with it. Sure, design to expand someday, but chances are USF will never need to expand, and it's okay. Keep the average around 35,000+ and it will be rockin and it will be green and gold and close to "home". I think the perception is that because there are a handful of programs with 80-110K seats now that everyone has to play catch up, and we don't. We've seen what overbuilding can do (empty seats). Man, $128 million isn't that bad, either. It's a heck of a lot better than $300+ million some of us frothed over for the Minnesota TCF Bank Stadium design. Man, Houston's looks **** good and for that price, I'd take it.
  17. Renovating a 70,000+ capacity stadium can do wonders for bowls and neutral site attraction.
  18. Bucs signed Connor Barth, lolololol I want to see Kloss catch on, er kick on, somewhere, but glad it's not the Sucs
  19. I'm sure there are a few kids on our team that have thought the same thing before [insert that hindsight quip]. But then again, it's up to the young man himself to make the best of his situation and focus on his studies, and keep practicing and no matter how crappy your team may be, if you put in the work, you can move on to the next level (just not as easily as being on a good team where your achievements are more frequently highlighted).
  20. Yeah but that invisibility wheel route would work every **** time.
  21. You should've eaten some Skittles first, would be like an artsy description of the game on Friday.
