    I wish Mike Leach used an Offensive Coordinator that we could hire away. I would love USF doing a high paced Air Raid. Any disciples of him out there besides Kingsbury?

    I (not that my opinion matters but whatever) also think that we should go for someone with a least SOME OC expirience. Maybe someone who has at least called ONE offensive play in their life, and preferably not an HB dive. If Coach Strong is smart he’ll get for the Oregon/Gulf Coast type offense without thinking. Whatever happened to TJ Weist? He ran the offense pretty well against South Carolina.

    People know of UCF being undefeated and just assume its us when they hear U-letter-F, but they have no idea we’re a completely different school. Just kind of wished it was the other way around.

    Everyone in the nation knows UCF. Impossible not to. Can’t say the same thing about us and its not even remotely close. It is very possible that we will be left behind during the next round of expansion. Incredibly depressing. Also can we please get an OCS fund set up?! I would donate and know a bunch of other alums who would too who dont give a **** about a friggin IPF.

    My original post was an answer to your question: ”would firing Gilbert and keeping Strong change things?” my answer was yes. The Head Coach hires the Offensive Coordinator. The Offensive Coordinator runs the offense via playcalling. If the offense sucks because the Offensive Coordinator is bad at playcalling, then the Head Coach can change things by hiring another Offensive Coordinator to run the offense and call different plays. I don’t know how much more simple I can make it. Head Coach hires Offensive Coordinator. Offensive Coordinator runs offense. THE ******* END.

    Right, so hiring someone who calls something other than HB dives mighttt change what we're doing on offense on a regular basis, maybe. An outside run would be nice every once in a while. Let's just hope someone can convince Charlie that there's other styles of offenses out there... I mean the guy coached and won under Urban Meyer, how the hell does he not implement an offense like that down here?

    Yep, nevermind. Nothing will change. Not even if he hired Kliff Kingsbury and his playbook. Absolutely nothing would've changed offensively.

    I don't know, seems like your post says that "firing Gilbert and keeping Strong won't change anything," right? However, if Strong takes a page out of Taggart's book and changes his preference of offense to something quicker, aka firing Gilbert, hiring another OC, and staying Head Coach then it will change things, contrary to your post. So... Correct me if I'm wrong.

    Sorry, I’ll spell it out for you. He only chooses the s-t-y-le of offense to run. But doesnt do the actual playcalling on the offensive side. “But, but, but then that means he’ll never change his style!” and to that, I say, see: Willie Taggart.

    Strong doesnt do anything regarding the offense. We just need to convince him that college football isnt about the running game anymore and fast paced. Hopefully someone can show him the light.

    Remember when Taggart tried his hardest to implement a power run offense here for 2 1/2 years and we let it slide even though we kept losing because he “needed the time, players, and constitency” to implement it properly. And then he saved his ass by totally changing everything mid-way through a game he HAD TO win to keep his job and realizing the power running offense aka HB Dive central can never work with our type of players. Do you seriously want to go through this all over again with Gilbert and Strong??

    Like I said, keep Strong. But how does Gilbert still have a job??? This is taking way too long. If he doesn’t get canned we are going to suuuuuckkkk and be boring on offense. We could lose a lot going forward if it all stays the same. I don’t care what Collin says, keeping the status quo for next year is a very real and sad possibility which shouldn’t happen. #BringBackTheGulfCoast
