    Best quote from the Ryan Leaf interview is when he is talking about the Leavitt teams and the upsets etc.. He says "what the heck happened to them and why are they calling me?". Yes, Goach, we are all wondering what happened as well. Next best is that they told him the stadium was 100% happening in Dec. 22'. Not sure if they lied to him or if that was indeed 100% at that point.

    Yeah I wondered the same thing. I follow college football, but I can't remember the last time I heard an AD say that about extending a coach because of sanctions. And losing what? 2 scholarships? It wasn't the end of the world. CJS wasted more than that on his 12 safeties.

    I agree. This isn't a rebuild in a good conference or a team that is just that awful. Goach should have an immediate impact because of how bad the previous staff was. By year two he will be able to purge the rest of the defense and have most of his guys playing.

    Horrible hire and it is hard to trust him, but ADs have had bad hires and turned out well.

    Natural rival will always be there. Building a rivalry with a known brand would have elevated the program. Who knew the school would blow it multiple times.

    It is nice for the dog days of summer, but AAU is getting to people. Once the season starts reality will set in.

    Better for Central and better for him. If he writes about USF vs Central he can double dip with readers. I doubt anyone from say Ames will read a Central vs Iowa State column.

    I'd be fine with Boise and AF, but I would hard pass on CSU. Give me a WKU, Coastal, App State or whatever Sunbelt team. Heck I would even consider Liberty with how much money they have.

    Hopefully after next season we can process out most of the D players who can't cut it this season. These guys are on their 3rd DC, so if they still stink it ain't the coaching staff.

    Not buying it. I haven't seen a guy that can tackle in at least half a decade and we haven't had a decent DL since idk when.

    Except they don't have to hurricane proof the stadium.....

    Except if I was an Outback executive I would be hesitant going from the Big 10\SEC teams to whatever garbage we would host. That being said I would be pretty happy with either Publix or Outback Stadium.

    I had it on while working, so I could have missed something. However, I believe the reference to the surrounding area was that the stadium could help current businesses and draw new ones to the area. The comment about bigger conference I think was a response to how the stadium could cost even more than their projections. He talked about how the three schools leaving would be getting ~20 million more in a new conference and that USF could get that boost by moving to a better conference. I didn't get the impression that he was hinting at something going on behind the scenes.
