  1. He is, but I can't recall his screen name. I'll shoot him a note to see if he wants to join the fray.
  2. It really was, though Holtz really killed the fun vibe, by degrading our team. It made it hard to do much more than commiserate.
  3. I'd love to connect with this bunch...we'd need name tags (joking, but maybe not a bad idea). I'll be at Tulane, so if' there's a Bullspen gathering, that'd be cool. I'll be in NOLA Wed-Mon. Can't wait.
  4. I'm sure we're better than San Jose State, but early opening, 3000 miles & 3 time zones away may be a challenge. I'll bet many of these kids have never even been out west. Could be a challenge.
  5. Aw, man...this likely triggers Turd! That story was was when some troll (UCF, maybe) was talking about going to the hospital to rough up a USF player in the hospital (not likely a real threat...but the troll was vulgar and threatening). Steve O offered to meet him in the Burger King parking lot near the hospital, and the troll said he would meet him there. The event never transpired, thankfully, but if I recall, Steve O showed. That earned him numerous nicknames from Turd, like Burger Boy and other clever quips. Steve O used to get so pissed at Turd. I saw Steve O at a USF game a few weeks before he died. I told him I'd communicated with Turd, and since the were both real fans, they'd likely get along if they ever met. Steve was not convinced such a meeting would be pleasant. Still, I'll always appreciate the banter, opinion sharing & characters of the Auman Blog (which died when they tried to charge a monthly fee, and the blog quality dipped when Knight took over).
  6. Yeah, but you also said Gunsby was going to be a great QB here...kidding! I don't have a great sense for impact true freshman, but Dingle might be the most talented...but we're deep, so I'm guessing redshirt (like I wish we RS'd Soloman as WR).
  7. RIP, Steve O. The battles were epic, but Steve was surprisingly different in person. You tend to picture what posters look like, by his tough talk and word of his Bulls tattoo, I assumed he was a burly biker. Nope. Wiry, long haired wild man, and very generous at tailgates, and in charity. His confrontation with the late BullMark was epic. After feuding & threatening each other other on Auman's blog, I tried to broker a peace meeting. It was a little tense at first, till Mark acted tough, then offered a beer...everyone laughed it off. They still disagreed on several points, but agreed on their love of our Bulls. I've met a few of you on here...and it's rarely as I imagine, but always cool to meet up & talk USF. Hopefully we all have good things to talk about this summer, and the Holtz/early Taggart years are FAR off in the rear view mirror.
  8. Agreed...big backs can wear out defenses, and strong obviously likes that. You've gotta love Mack/Johnson, but having a bruiser again will be nice. Really miss Swanson at FB...what a wasted talent. Hopefully he gets it together.
  9. Welcome to forum, old friend! A bit quiet this time of year, but should get really active soon, as we count down to San Jose.
  10. I thought DoJo was playing D-League for someone, but maybe I heard wrong? Guess he's still in the European system?
  11. Now toying with the idea of a trip with my wife, likely a Wed-Mon trip. Toying with hitting some nearby areas, like Carmel-by-the-Sea. We've been to SF, so I don't think we need to hit that. Not sure where the stadium is relative to down town, but will look into it. Any suggestions on nearby sight seeing is appreciated, and certainly would be interested in a Bulls gathering.
  12. https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/2018/antonio-grier-186176 2 stars on RIval, and not big. But, he's a rising Sr, and with a redshirt, he could bulk up & learn the system. Trusting Coach Strong.
  13. Lest there be any doubt ("Not that there's anything wrong with that" - Seinfeld).
  14. Got my glasses, too...and also my wife asked why I bought more USF gear. When I told her I won a prediction pool, he got even more dubious..."You can't even predict what day the garbage man comes...and he's been coming on the same day for 15 years". Clearly, I hide my intellect with the skill on a squirrel.
  15. That'd be awesome. We really need to get seen on these road trips. My wife is a WVU fan, and we were in Austin years back, Mountaineer fans OWNED 6th Street. it was pretty cool. I'd like to see us being more present.
  16. Yeah, you'll just have to snuggle your wife :-) Kidding. I was hoping to get doubles, too, in case a couple friends of ours can make it. There are some good deals on Priceline Express Deals (4 stars, low-mid 200s), but you pay upfront...no cancellation. So, unless you're SURE, it's a bit risky this far out. My buddy told me since you're not on Bourbon Street, not much point of a balcony...it's just noisy. Hope he's right, or my wife will gig me for skimping.
  17. I think he's a walk on, so I'm guessing no stipend? I'm not sure how it works, clearly.
  18. On recommendation from a friend, I booked at Place d'Armes, close by, I think. My wife & I are making it another football vacation, arriving Wed, leaving Mon. That was also the lowest cost flight, going w/Delta (Spirit and Allegiant were options (FLL and Sanford), but they made me nervous, in case something went wrong. http://www.valentinohotels.com/ So...I'm all set. Hope to see a lot of the Bulls green in NOLA that week. Go Bulls!
  19. I read last week that MOSI was going to stay, I believe. If so, where would the OCS be built, most likely?
  20. My bad, as I didn't read back from the top, but just noticed the thread added Tiger's latest. I wouldn't think drugs for Bench, but given most of us don't really know these guys, I suppose there's no telling. Hopefully not drugs.
