  1. /thread Should this be moved to the off topic thread???????????
  2. At this point I say run three times and punt. Option football.
  3. Darrell Williams is small and he has Flat Tires for feet. So he is the Yugo of "Offensive" linemen.
  4. Is Taggarts offensive system being passed by? Are the days of run heavy and great defenses a thing of the past? When is the last time a defense in college or NFL has been that dominant and had virtually no passing attack? Can you plan not to score much and still expect to win games? http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/9682395/the-pacific-northwest-rules-football-landscape NFL average scoring per team per game has risen from 18.7 points two decades ago to 22.8 points in 2012. Football Bowl Subdivision scoring has risen from 20.6 points per game per team in 1972 to 28.3 points in 2012. Last season ended with 57 FBS schools -- nearly half the total -- averaging at least 30 points per game. The uptick continues; last weekend, all of FBS averaged 30.7 points per school per game, and 427 yards of offense per team per game. The average big-college football team exceeded 400 yards.
  5. Just put Dominique Threatt in. I mean he cant do much worse than the other guy.
  6. Stack the box and out TEs will have a field day. It is an easy and high percentage pass and I think our two best offensive players are our two TEs in Price and McFarland(in no particular order) McFarland is one of our best offensive players? What has he done to trigger you to make such an outlandish statement? He has the UF transfer pedigree. I hope you've seen more than that, because I haven't. Probably because of the way Taggart runs his offense? TE's will be a huge weapon and Coach T has had nothing but positive praise for both McFarland and Price. I suspect we will see them both getting the ball, a lot.
  7. were u slapping your chest while trying to bite your ear as u wrote this comment? Taggart's system doesn't score more points for the other team, the POOR EXECUTION scores more points. Floyd and Eveld flat out suck. Bench is a transfer who knows half the playbook and threw one pick-6 on 4th and 14. and blocking for all of them is the worst OLine in FBS football, an OLine that is undersized in some cases by 50 pounds and was recruited by a horrible recruiter to play a spread offense which they ALSO failed to run effectively. nobody is saying Taggart needs all 5-star recruits for his system to run, but he DOES need recruits suited for his system, not an OL the size of fullbacks "blocking" (if we could call it that) for two walk-ons and a transfer. When BJ was QB Offense was not bad with Holtz. It was passive defense that lost us many games. I wish we had one more year of BJ playing QB. When BJ went down last year we all saw what was coming in those last three games of ineptitude. BJ probably made the offensive line look less offensive.
  8. I dont have ESPN 3 so the only game I have watched is Michgian St. IT seems routes take to long to develop. If I am mistaking isnt that what the West Coast Offense is suppose to be? Run game is great. Goal line run terrible. Passing game is in need of a major overhaul. I think Taggart wants them to do something they are not capable of.
  9. Bigger and stronger? Strenght is not the issue. They are missing blocks. The do not understand pass protection for this scheme. There are no outlet passes for the QB or they are missing reads. Coach T is stubborn that they will do things his way and not change scheme to fit personnel. This will either make or break Taggart. According to Taggart he is following the model of his mentors (Harbaughs). So it will work or he will die trying. The question I have is it good for the psyches of current players not to play to their strengths? I think Coach T could play to the strenghts of the players he has but then no one knows what the plan really is i.e new freshmen coming in.
  10. Taggart has now had two months with these kids. April and August. It is going to take time. Don't forget the last three games of last year were identical to these losses this year.
  11. Me = 142 posts/ 5 years= 28.4 posts per year/ 365 days= 0.07 post per day. Man I suck
  12. GaUSFBull = 10000 posts/ approx 4 years= 2500 per year / 365 days= 6.84 post per day Apis Bull = 15000 posts/ 11 years = 1363 per year/ 365 days = 3.73 post per day
  13. White was being recruited by Holtz and he committed when Taggart got here so you are both right and wrong
  14. How about his weight gain to 270? I think this has made a major difference. I remember him struggling to get to 245 in college.
  15. You can believe what you want but the fact is that Leavitt never competed for the Big East title. If the last 3 years USF came in no better than 3rd in the Big East, this fanbase would be in an uproar and want him gone. If you recall when Holtz arrived, USF had issues with no talent at key positions. like WR. Holtz said he was surprised at the lack of talent at key positions so its not just Holtz that had holes in the team. Never heard of Holtz saying that, but from what I remember; Bogan, Love, and Griffin were very solid (injuries aside) He did say it. Can't find it, but can find an Oracle article that alludes to it. http://www.usforacle.com/mobile/holtz-s-new-look-bulls-turn-to-youth-1.2317708 Quoting Skip Holtz re: football talent would be akin to quoting me re: quantum physics. Yeah, don't quote Holtz (89/72 w/l), coaching for years, number of college conference and division championships, took UConn to its first 1AA playoff game in 100 years of football and won it, coached with his father who won the last NC at Notre Dame, instead take the word of TBP members on the current level of talent on the team. Makes total sense. Loved Holtz as a person but for USF football for some reason he did not know how to coach Florida talent.
  16. We already know this is not an easy offense to learn (See John Gruden). There is going to be growing pains and we saw a little light on Saturday. The running game has never looked that good before Coach T. That was a stout defensive line we were running on. He made the seemingly distant Marcus Shaw and a feature back. Please give credit where credit is due.
  17. F, a, c. Huge improvement from defense and punter except last punt. He avg 40 yds a punt
  18. Punter did very well this week except last punt. I am pleased with team today but not satisfied but saw light today
