  1. Bizarre. In Madden 13, the script written by EA Sports, in their studio in Orlando, has the fictitious projected #1 draft pick for 2013 being a FAU WR, a favorite for the Heisman. So weird.
  2. I'd have to agree with whoever said that this is the first year in USF's 15 year history that the team probably has 2 deep starting talent at just about every position. I'd would say that the D line and LBs are the strength of the defense and the WR depth is the best ever. And we have some good RBs too. You'd have to ask others about game day atmosphere.
  3. Well, I would be on the lookout for two guys on defense for a start. Giddens at DE and Lattimore at OLB. Both are on preseason watch lists. Probably Webster at CB too. He's in the Notre Dame record books.
  4. The Big East was founded the same year. And has so far survived attempts by other conferences and ESPN to kill it. Of the two, the Big East has proven its a survivor, more so than ESPN. Going to another network and help them cut into ESPN's ratings would be perfect karma.
  5. Or moot. Sorry, I couldn't resist. No, I want them to shut up. I don't care if its irrelevant. lol Why do we have to shut up? This is a flipping message board. Seriously what is so wrong about espousing our feelings about an OCS? I'm not mad, just curious as to why you feel the need for that. How many threads on how many versions of this forum are going to be devoted to "espousing feeling" about an OCS? They are the same as the ones espoused on the first thread on another version of the board. Its all the same argument over and over. At least before it was in its own area away from events that were noteworthy and topical. This is neither. Well this thread wan't intended to go back over the same old argument. Just to say that the crowds at the softball playoff last year and the soccer game this year were really terrific and made for good TV for those watching. If baseball gets going as it should they'll get support, too. So why not enjoy these new venues and support these programs on campus rabidly and leave the football program at Ray Jay until the money starts to overflow from football. That's a theory, kind of strange if you ask me, but OK, its different. And what followed were the same old arguments. Here, let me bring up another of the old arguments so you guys can espouse on that, lol, recruiting. You guys seemed to have lost a little steam so lets rehash that all over too. After all the dust has cleared from the back and forth on the issue, it really boils down to economics. Unless someone is writing a huge check, its about as likely to happen as USF buying a private 747 for the team to fly to its west coast games.

  7. Red Zone is like crack. And the host is on Twitter, Scott Hanson, and he answers Tweets from viewers.
  8. My dad, who actually did live before storms were named, said that most people enjoyed the storms because they came with cool air and blew the bugs out of town. RIP dad.
  9. Do you really believe that a 50,000 seat stadium would cost that much? Its not how much I believe, its how much a quality venue of that size costs. Google TCF Bank Stadium.
  10. Or moot. Sorry, I couldn't resist. No, I want them to shut up. I don't care if its irrelevant. lol
  11. Simple solution is for you guys that want an OCS stadium come back with the $300 million needed for a quality stadium that fans aren't afraid will collapse on them and donate it to USF. Than the argument is mute.
  12. You won't regret getting an XBox for college football. I have 3 PS3s and a Wii btw. If you don't get an XBox, the feed is in HD on the website with a good connection. HDMI out on your computer and into your HDTV is the second best setup after the XBox.
  13. When the brought in the consulting firm, on Media Day, it said that ideas were put forth for branding. Sure it is.
  14. Thanks. I didn't spend time on it this year even though I have the preseason football package online. Duh. As for college colors day. My wife is going to ask her site manager if its ok. Its the kind of thing you do to lift spirits. They do that kind of stuff all the time. Here....deep in SEC country....one of her coworkers is a BULL ALUMNI! HAHA. And I have my daughter all set too.

  16. They have on NFL.com now where you can draft and have Google Plus webcam meeting going on during the draft. lol. Scary.
  17. That was for one of my Keeper players. I have a waiver I hope goes through. Let me see what happens.
  18. Here is the facebook page of College Colors Day. Its not an ESPN website, its a separate entity and ESPN was holding a contest in conjunction with them. https://www.facebook...ollegecolorsday Here is the official website where you can do things like pledge your work site to participate Friday and submit a photo to be put in their yearbook section. There is a contest where you can win a tailgate party for your entire office. http://collegecolorsday.com/Home.aspx And of course, who is behind all of this? ©2012 The Collegiate Licensing Company
  19. ESPN can not stand when someone other than themselves is running things behind the scenes. Cursed college students...messing up their crowning of an SEC team. Under official rules: "ANY ATTEMPT BY ANY PERSON TO DELIBERATELY UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES ... MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS ... AND SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES ... INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION."
  20. You need the sports package hombre. Thanks for the info NewEnglandBull Maybe one day ... Dude. Call them. I got it for half price for 6 months so its $4.50/month (reg price is $9). It has great channels like NFL Red Zone, Madison Sq Gardens which has Big East games and the Big 10 network. It also has the Sun network, all those fishing shows from Florida. Sun is 422 on Dish.
  21. I wouldn't go as saying its a joke of a network. The problem is that they have gone from reporting the games to manipulating sports as they have become more powerful. I really think Congress needs to hold hearings.
  22. I am not surprised about the negative Big East tone. I am surprised about the lack of talk about USF which did receive votes in both polls, was chosen by Athlon and Phil Steele to win or be Big East co champ.
  23. LOL. There will be a blackout maps on ESPN Game Plan that should be the same for ESPN3. Those are usually the same games, although there will be a few that say ESPN3 exclusive. The link to this map is on this page. http://proxy.espn.go...=viewpage&ccv=0 EDIT: The game is an ESPN3 exclusive. So it won't be on the map when it goes live, just have to tune in and see.
  24. Friday's College Football Live was going over the conferences. When it came to the Big East, all bad news. The only glimmer was Boise St coming in. And USF...not mentioned one time. Charlie Strong, Pitt and Rutgers were the teams/coaches mentioned. Strong was said to be the one most likely moving on to better things. And the only Big East player mentioned was Bridgewater. Oh, I guess we were mentioned...."Bridgewater, out of south Florida.... The bias was just so blaring. "The conference commish hopefully can get a TV good contract". "I guess they have a uniqueness with being in multiple time zones", to paraphrase. Garbage. In closing Van Pelt said if you could name all the incoming Big East teams you are a better man than him. Finally..the truth! Van Pelt reminds me of someone else,
