But the point is that given the right coaches and believing in yourself, you can play at higher level than the talent scouts rating. And when faced with adversity, not give up and lay down, which USF didn't do.

That was all the coaches and team believing that they could adjust, execute and win. Contrast that with the "fans" reactions I saw at the beginning of the game on this forum that were so devoid of hope that it was embarrassing. There are venues to congratulate the team though on facebook and Twiiter. Nevada came out swinging and shocked USF by playing at a higher level than expected. Lots of mistakes on both sides but you could tell who the special players were on both sides and I saw coach Holtz talking to that Nevada LB after the game. I just hope your coach isn't getting the kind of backlash ours would if we had lost.

I can tell you one thing. If any of the coaches or players had the pathetic attitude that pervaded the chat room, and I imagine the game thread, full of "fans", in the first quarter, that team would have lost by 50 points. I give the team and coaches a tremendous amount of credit for fighting back in the face of adversity, figuring out a winning strategy, and implementing it. This is the type of life lesson football teaches, don't give up no matter what the situation vs having the dejected, hopeless, "all is lost" attitude, that the team would lose for sure, mind set early in the game. I really hope that doesn't get back to the team, or incoming players, how fair weather and faithless the fan base is. Skip said immediately after the game he was so proud of the team because they believed. How about we show more of that attitude at The Bulls Pen when things are not going The Bulls way instead of saying the team is pathetic and bash Holtz?

Same here, I've got a kid and he's probably going to Princeton or Harvard. Go figure. And I an hoping my daughter goes to Georgia Tech. According to the bumper sticker I saw while at their campus, they don't fit the mold...they make it. There are interviews with Snyder on the pay college websites that give insight to his thoughts post game. Now you have to admit, most schools did NOT score a ton of points on USF. They may have scored more, eventually, but USF was in 5 of the games they lost last year, right up until the end. If you put him on a team with a more effective offense, he may look much better.

My uncles and a couple cousins went to UF, my sister went to FSU (masters from USF). If it wasn't for WWII, my dad would have went to UF but instead he went out to Hawaii and attended UH while my grandfather was working as a Sea Bee to rebuild the dock at Pearl. I have no ties to any Texas school, my family has been in Florida over a century.

He played a conservative zone or man defense, would rather give up short gains that be beat deep. I think for whatever reason he doesn't like press coverage. I guess he didn't think that players were fast enough to no get burned or weren't good enough at pursuit.

There isn't anything I need to know about USF that I have not gotten from Greg. He is my Official Reporter on all things USF Bulls. I have the Twitter exchanges, when he has answered questions I have asked about USF, to prove it. And I have yet to see any posts on The Bulls Pen by Trib reporters. It seems to me that Greg takes being assigned to USF as more than a job...why else hang here?
