  1. Same. I've been watching my kids play either basketball or football for years, with AAU and then high school. I'm immune to metal bleachers now. A pad or a folding seat back work just fine. Edit to add that I will not complain if they do put in actual chairs with backs. Just saying, I'll deal with bleachers if I need to.
  2. Given costs, I'm about 110% sure we'll be getting metal bleachers. (Of course, I don't know anything so take that 110% with a grain of salt, but still).
  3. I'd take a version of Protective Stadium on campus. I'm sure the architects can sex up the outside a bit more, but in terms of a stadium I like it a lot. Good size, expandable. USF can sell butt pads with the iconic U to offset the lack of seats.
  4. You used the B word! I haven't thought of a bowl for a while. That would be something. Don't really see it happening, but that would be amazing.
  5. I voted 4, and I'm hoping for that, but it very well could be 3. Hell, it could be 2. I think ECU and Tulane are the ones we do win, though. I don't see anyone else at this point, but we've made pretty visible improvements so far, so that could certainly continue. I hope it does. Go Bulls!
  6. That was to try to force ticket sales. For us, nobody cares so while I like the idea of trying to force more butts in seats, I think you need to show them something on TV first to entice them back in person. Outside of die-hards, who's buying USF tickets anymore?
  7. Yeah, I don't understand how USF has never been able to make inroads with local print media. You'd think after all these years there would be some sort of relationship.
  8. It was a fun game to watch, too. Lots of good drives, 3rd down conversions, controlling the ball and the clock, scoring on offense. It didn't look like the wheels were going to come off, although they started to wobble a couple of times. It was a really great showing after folding last week. CJS seemed really proud and happy, too. It'll be nice if this is the beginning of our upswing and he sticks around for a while. We need success and stability. It's too early to hope he's our Bobby Bowden, but it would be nice if he were our Bobby Bowden.
  9. I got a bit nervous a couple of times as it looked like the momentum was starting to swing to Temple, but we managed to keep the pressure on and the running game was amazing. Great, great win. We beat an FBS team again and I'm happy.
  10. To be fair, he was pretty terrible in the beginning. Hopefully, history repeats itself (except the ditching the team before a bowl part).
  11. This is true. Although, for a while there years ago, they were scheduling way above their weight class in OOC. They were getting beat by all those teams, but it got their name out there. Then they went soft on the scheduling to make the records look more presentable. Cunning bastards.
  12. I agree with that. And I think we almost have to pretend we're 15 years ago and even accept some 2 for 1 games or pay day 1 and done away games. I mean, we're not the USF we were in the BE. We're not even the USF we were in the AAC a few years ago. As others have mentioned, though, the P4/P5s are creating alliances and making it more difficult to schedule. Over the next 4 or 5 years, we've got another Florida game, a couple Bama games, Miami games. Somehow we need more of that and, as long as we keep winning, I've gotta think we're in a good position.
  13. The (old) AAC had 5 NY6 appearances to MWC's 1 and MAC's 1. Of course, 4 of those appearances were from UCF, Houston, and Cincy, so there's that. I think all we can do is win win win and eventually we'll get in there.
  14. I'm thinking that will depend on SoS, how we beat the teams we beat, and whether the selection committee likes USF that year. It's pretty subjective, but all we can do is try to get ranked as high as possible at the end of each year. If we get snubbed one year, hopefully it would create enough attention that we wouldn't be overlooked if in the same position the next year.
  15. I've wondered about this, with Cable usage dropping and streaming services taking over. Do physical media markets even matter anymore when fewer and fewer people watch traditional broadcast TV and cable? Maybe ads are still regionally- or locally-targeted, even with streaming? I dunno.
  16. We should get an extra reaction ration for days like today.
  17. Totally agree. At this point, I don't even care what the conference looks like. If we win it and keep winning, hopefully we get ranked, noticed, and called up. Worst case, we win and keep winning and don't get called up and we get to watch exciting football (it's exciting to me if we win, even if they're ugly wins at this point), we'll be collecting hardware, and it'll give alums a sense of pride. Even if we're in Metro 2.0/C-USA 3.0/AAC 2.0, if we win it, how can people not have pride? Now, a casual who has no connection to USF, will they care? I have no idea. I doubt they care now, so who cares. Maybe we can lure them with some sexy OOC games?
  18. Hopefully, we recruit Florida better than any of them. Boca's closer to Miami, but I've got to think we'd be more attractive than FAU as an institution. The others, I'm hoping wouldn't steal many recruits from us. Even just the Bay area and Lakeland produces some pretty good talent. Time to lock down the homegrown guys.
  19. Which makes me wish that FIU was added along with FAU. That could have meant we were on the way out (I know, I know, but I can dream).
  20. Jasmine or Basmati, depending on whether I'm doing southeast asian or southern asian food.
