  1. I think Capital One must have asked the CFP members: "What's in your wallet?" Georgia football to play Florida State in the Orange Bowl after missing out on College Football Playoff WWW.DAWGNATION.COM ATHENS — Georgia won’t be playing in the College Football Playoff, but it will still be facing a quality opponent in its bowl game. The Bulldogs will take on the Florida State...
  2. The very definition of irony. NCAA leaders warn college sports at risk of ‘permanent damage’ without action from Congress | CNN Politics WWW.CNN.COM The NCAA’s most powerful conferences delivered an urgent plea to congressional leaders last week: We need your help to save college sports – and need it now.
  3. Dont think USF isgoing to the Orange Bowl. Not with that attitude!
  4. I hear Michael Alford already has a call into UCF to find out how to claim this year's National Championship.
  5. Things turning out well for USF lol In new relegation format, FSU to SEC, Gators to AAC, renamed North Central Florida University and designated as our temporary in-state rive in the annual Survive on I-75 game. Of course, that would only until our ultimate call up to the ACC (which now, apparently, does not give us a very good path to the CFP either).
  6. Well, FSU's dance card got freed up a bit. Maybe we can have that Bulls-Noles matchup in the Kick 'em While They're Down Bowl.
  7. Pretty much nowhere but I am hoping Dirty Myrtle.
  8. "Florida State is a different team than it was the first 11 weeks," CFP selection committee chairman Boo Corrigan told ESPN. "As you look at who they are as a team right now, without Jordan Travis, without the offensive dynamic he brings, they are a different team and the committee voted Alabama four and Florida State five." I think it is interesting that the CFP Committee head expressly states that it is all based on a player injury. Should help open the gates to more headhunting in the future. I don't argue that FSU may not be a top 4 team but stating this as the decision-making rationale is more than pathetic.
  9. Then just dont play the games at all. I'm with you, just slot the playoffs based on preseason polls but with 6 spots each for Big 10 and SEC.
  10. Any proof needed that they are minions of Satan were dashed when Harlan joined.
  11. As **** Vitale said, USF is the toughest job in coaching. Of course that was when we were playing in the Big East, but the level of competition it doesn't see to matter that much. The Bulls have been capable over the years to play below the lowest bar set.
  12. Just back from spending last night at the ACC Championship with fellow USF/FSU alums. Good time and fun speculating where Bulls and Noles are bowl bound. If FSU is left out because they were not more dominant in conference championship, the CFP Committee should adopt a rule that each team in playoff has to play without their first and second-string QBs. I'm sure all those other contenders wouldn't miss a beat. And I would give the tiebreaker nod to Bama 'cause, after all, they have a n OOC win over the Bulls and were able to lay 17 on USF's vaunted defense, only 39 less than their in-state little bros at UAB. Seriously though, I can see how the committee could select any mix of Bama, FSU or Texas and the one left out will claim conspiratorial foul play. That's why a good rule as a fan and in life is that you have to value the good that you have and not worry or whine so much about what might have been. Go Bulls and Go Noles!
  13. Nope. Just want a level playing field - not free agency. Put some restrictions in place. Don't worry. With all the changes, employee regulation and lots of lawsuits are coming. Then the real teams will get involved.
  14. It will be a kind of a Rorschach Test for the psyche of Bulls fans.
  15. If the Bulls don't get a bowl invite that I can attend at least I'll have this fallback for my other alma mater. While I'm there I'll put in a good word for those who think that the ACC is USF's manifest destiny. Go Bulls and Go Noles!
  16. Because of my longstanding Bulls Club fundraising efforts, I got front-row seats at this game. Which meant, because it was played in the Trop, I couldn't see over our players on the sidelines. It might have been a good game. Couldn't prove it by me.
  17. I remember as a kid seeing them advertised on Saturday morning during cartoons and begging my Mom to buy some. Then I tasted them.... I'm sure that is a cautionary tale of life's disappointments that has been oft repeated. Several past relationships come to mind. \
  18. Flew up on the charter for Papa Johns. At the Bulls bash the night before the game it was open bar, so that was a tailor-made disaster. Got to drinking with Ward Griffin and the next day my ex was pretty much passed out in the stands the whole game. Walking out of the Sun Bowl, I was approached by a guy in a Texas El Paso hat who said to me, "You guys came an awful long way for the worst Sun Bowl ever." Thanks for that. Besides the horror that was the game, I had a good time at the post-game Bulls bash at Cattleman's Steakhouse. When the bus arrived, armed "desparados" stopped us and shot a duck pinata to empathize with our pain. Then to ease it, when we got off the bus they greeted us with huge trays of tequila served in hand-carved cucumber shot glasses. I ate rattlesnake at dinner and that was still one of the highlights of the trip....
  19. It is the natural outcome of the evolution of the modern college football food chain. After the big fish eat all the little fish, then the other bigger fish start looking pretty tasty.
  20. Missed 2010 Toronto and 2017 Texas Tech. Other than those played in USF's backyard and in Way West Texas/North Mexico, all the rest have been a blast. My faves would be our bowl dominance of the State of South Carolina and punking our soon-to-be conference mate and future head coach in Birmingham Vol. 1. Often the partying and shared experiences with fellow Bulls fans and friends eclipsed the fun of the game. But I will gladly take both.
  21. Give me a win over a "no name" team over a beat down by a "vaguely recall name" team any day. Besides, I don't mind being a "no name," I just don't want to continue to be called "UCF" everywhere.
  22. OK, I'm not expecting to beat everybody in this first season but c'mon. UAB and FAU were both 4-8 and hung 56 points on us respectively; more than they scored on anybody else, including FCS teams. That should not have happened.
