  1. Getting people back on campus is a must to increase donations. The average alum has 0 reason to return to campus (non FB sporting event attendance is poor). You can’t sell somebody a house if you can’t get them through the front door.
  2. I now donate more, and once I’m done with my second mortgage (aka daycare), I plan on donating more.
  3. Sure, so I didn’t make it on campus for probably a 3/4 year stretch.. the year my daughter was born, we did a baseball game and walked around the campus with her. Brought back amazing memories and I was frankly proud to see how far the school has come in a few years. Have since pushed to do more sporting events on campus. To answer your question, I think it is safe to say a good chunk of alumni attend maybe one football game a year. I can tell you sporting events aside, I have no reason to be on campus. Getting alumni on campus WILL increase attendance for other sporting events. I’d rather take my kid to a bulls baseball game (perfect weather) than a rays game in a giant Walmart. I may attend two baseball games, but I’m considering getting season tickets for baseball. Maybe you get 100,000 different (unique individuals) people on campus for an on campus football game per season. Maybe 10% are blown away by what they see and either donate (or donate more) or even just push to attend more school events.
  4. IPF is definitely priority one and will be done first. That said, this is something that can be multitasked. I graduated from school about a decade and have a young family. I try to do a couple football games a year, plus a couple baseball and basketball games. I’m down in Sarasota; it is super difficult for me (and I assume a lot of other young-ish alum) to find the time to get out to a sporting event (much less one on campus). Make no mistake, getting alumni on campus for the maybe one USF-related event they do each year would be huge. The campus has undergone amazingly big changes in the decade Ive been out. I hope it passes.
  5. Back in the day, one endzone yelled green and the other yelled gold.. it actually used to get pretty loud and was easy/fun for people to get involved; disappointed we stopped doing this along the way. That said, adopting 2bits, or a turnover purse, a flamingo, or a fricking wizard is just lame. Here’s a good rule of thumb- if the rest of the country will read about your ‘tradition’ and day, “yeah, that’s some pretty dumb ****”, DONT DO IT.
  6. Good hearing from you, Joey... reporting a number that no other school reports is misleading.
  7. His obsession with the actual attendance is sad. The WSJ article that was recently published is a perfect example of how reported and actual should be reported. It’s frankly disappointing that the braintrust at the TBT didn’t attempt something similar seeing as that most get wayyy to excited about ‘actual’. The reporting of the actual attendance (when no other school does it) is the equivalent of reporting how many college aged males wore school colors to the game. Yes, it is technically news, no it is not news worthy.
  8. We figure out what channel this is on frontier? Thx in advance
  9. Fair.. that play was weak sauce. He shook it off and pretty much stopped the ecu pass o on his own though.
  10. Mike Hampton thinks you guys are crazy. Punter was prob top 5 though.
  11. Gosh.. tons of things wrong with those polls.. that said, did anybody watch last nights game and say yep, that’s a top 25 team???
  12. Looked like the FSU o-line out there. Tom Brady is struggling with the performance of the o-line last night. That said, no jet sweeps, one wr screen (two?), no quick slants (understand Q may have been too short for those, but that should be in BBs wheelhouse). Just went out there and ran the same offense and just about paid for it.
  13. Been a weird few weeks. Super confident after tech, but I think they end up having an awful year (making it a less impressive win). Really disappointed after ecu, but kind of think they end up being better than we think. Thinking 10-2 to 8-4 is about right.
