    It makes sense. With things going the way they are, Plant is going to be offered an invitation to join the Big East soon.

    Interesting find. The chart in the link you provided has us at 53 and UConn at 52. Was there another link somewhere in the article. I don't UCF ranked at all on the chart. It looks like Pittsburgh is number 65, not UCF. According to the article, these rankings are for the 2011-12 season. With that in mind, it wouldn't have taken into account our 3-9 record this year and conference mess, so we probably dropped.

    Just thinking out loud here, but wouldn't he have been a better choice for quarterbacks coach, at least compared to Nick Sheridan? Not knocking the hire since the man worked wonders at Plant and we have talent at WR, but it seems odd.

    I thought this was supposed to be an auto-commit No such thing with USF. A recruit can be in Taggart's office begging for a scholarship and then have second thoughts once offered.

    I agree Akron's defense was hideous this year. I'm not too excited about him either, especially after Shannon and Durkin's names were being floated around.With that being said, Amato does have some good experience. Bobby Bowden kept him around for a reason. We can't judge him by his ONE season at Akron. He was dealing with another coache's recruits and at best, had part of an offseason to try to convince kids to come to Akron. If their defense has no talent, there's no coach in the world that could compensate for that. No matter how much polishing you do, a turd is still a turd. If he had 3-4 seasons to get some players in there and still stunk it up, that'd be different.

    Did someone else take credit in the byline or was Greg given credit anywhere? I'm asking because I can't see the full site on my phone. Some organizations publish from other sources or license stories since they don't have enough money for staff or reporters. For example, you will see Yahoo News publish content from the Associated Press all the time.

    Smash Mouth, Option, Pro Style, West Coast, Spread, Pistol, whatever. I don't care what type of offense we run. Each style has pros and cons. What matters is that we run it well. You can run the prettiest spread offense in the world, but it won't mean squat if receivers are dropping balls or backs are fumbling left and right. Likewise, if you don't recruit a big line and a power back, you're not going to run a smashmouth offense. Taggart will only be successful if he recruits for his desired offense, adapts his system to the players he has, and works on the fundamentals for each position, i.e. don't Holtz things up.

It's a type of barcode, but has more storage capacity that the ones your normally see in the grocery store. I know what it is, I don't have the ability to scan it. I want to know what it brings up. Nothing. It's a stock photo.

    Anybody know of any redeeming qualities for this guy? Looking at numbers alone, his defenses appear to have gotten worse each year and this year's was no better than ours. Not someone I'd necessarily trust to bring us to 'bully' status.

    Depends how many games you think BJ cost us the past two years. Bridgewater would have made some of the throws that BJ couldn't but with the way our D was playing and receivers dropping balls, I don't think it would have made much of a difference. Maybe a game or two, but I don't think it would be the difference between 3-9 and 10-2.

    His goal might not be a HC job. He might want to end up an SEC DC. Less stress but still good pay and prestige. Hell, he might be after Kirby Smart's job since rumor has it Saban will be leaving in a few years leaving Smart as his successor. It'd be a logical progression for him in the next 2-3 years whether he took the USF job or the Arky job. He made a smart move. He probably bid his value up pitting the two schools against one another and now he likely got a huge raise to do the same thing. He'll get paid more and face less scrutiny than at the USF job and end up a SEC DC with less work. In short, we needed him more than he needed us.

    247 says he's been offered by Clemson, Marshall, and Louisville. I can't see anywhere that we've offered or are targeting him.
