  1. Part of it is related to he was given the keys and didn't live up the hype... 2. Schiano I feel that he is the antithesis to everything Bulls and even Tampa fans represent!
  3. I believe they are saying he will get an interview. For me you have to weigh the probability that the incoming coach knows how to win, will continue to do so, and then leave a la CWT. Out of all the coaching names that I have seen out there it appears to me that Miles fits that criteria the best.
  4. I like the FL angle but the next shake up in CFB is fast approaching. I would rather increase our winning chances in the near term and go after proven coaches every 2-5 years and better position the Bulls to transition away from G5 status. The cost of coaches learning on the job has had a heavy cost in our current environment. If USF was still in a 'P5' conference I don't believe CWT would have left.
  5. I think Miles knows how to win. He def ran a pro style offense but he always struck me as a capable coach. I also think traditionally speaking USF has been successful in recruiting good defensive teams. CJL knew that the spread and speed on O played to our advantage. CSH and CWT (first two years) did not understand this. I would hope whomever comes in takes this lesson. If not Harlan better lay the smack down.
  6. Not sure what you are asking...but if your suggesting his record is indicative or merits a the HC job at USF I thing you are selling the program short IMHO.

  8. Les Miles is a defense minded coach who would have some name recognition. If he is able to bring in a Scott etc to help with the FL recruiting I would like this hire. 10. Sry buddy a bit before my time ;-) For clarification I meant that I hope he is successful at the next level and IMO that means he will have to be flexible regarding position. He most certainly will get the great "CFB" QB line at the next level similar to Tebow.
  11. You could be right...I was just writing thoughts down to put them out there. Q is a great runner with some what deceptive speed. I also think he is extremely tough. I am not sure whether Matt or BJ could take the physical toll Q has. I am also not sure if they would have too, just different players. One thing is sure, we are averaging over 40+ pts a game and Q is a big part of that. That's amazing! I just hope he doesn't become a Tim Tebow if he decides to transition to the next level.
  12. I can say that I remember calling that Bench start the season while Q becomes more seasoned as a QB. While I cannot say how this would have affected Q's development, his first few games were pretty rough. His improvement that year was phenomenal though. Something that I do find myself struggling with is why when I watch Q I don't get the same excitement as I did when watching Grothe or Daniels. It might be that the scheme we run now really takes advantage of the all the skill players we have, and so, relies less on the QB's passing ability and conflicts with what I inherently value from a QB. Then again I remember the sandlot football plays we relied on to be successful back in those days and it drove me crazy because it's hard to be consistent with that game plan. I still find myself trying to compare what Matt or BJ would do in this system and thinking how they would blowing the lid off. Anyhow I am extremely happy for Q and hope he keeps growing as a football player. Would love to see him transition to the next level (maybe as a CB?). Best of luck to him and his new family!
  13. I get the feeling this would have an impact...but its nothing more than speculation at this point.
  14. I think several of us called this at the beginning of the year regarding the D coord. It was really the first homer move from CWT I have seen in his coaching choices...hopefully he has learned.
  15. So basically Iowa State AD said we like the status quo and feel lucky to be in a conference with Texas and Oklahoma bc if they leave we are nothing. How short sighted of him/them to just play along....
  16. I did a similar analysis last year for several games. I don't remember the exact stats, but comparing this game to others I don't think our O has changed much since then. Thx for posting
  17. Really, it's not pay wall on my end "Though the Big 12 interviewed 11 candidates for expansion, it announced Monday that it would stick with its 10-member status quo. Candidate schools released statements after learning they wouldn't join the Big 12. Interestingly, front-runners like Houston and BYU focused on their strength and fitness for Power 5 play, while schools presumed less likely to get bids - think SMU, South Florida - said expansion consideration helped their brand. Here's the universities' breakdown:" Goes on to show the statements for different schools including usf
  18. I liked the tact taken by Houston, personally. Doesn't have to be as black and white as "Eat my shorts"
  19. We have to win our bowl game for it to matter (see WKU). Beating a GT wouldn't be bad for the image.
