Actually I don't think it had to do with his home state. I think it had to do with USF winning 10 conference games in 4 years -- Zero road conference games in 2 1/2 year -- and the last time they made the tournament he was probably playing basketball in college. If he was so loyal to Winthrop he wouldn't have been looking for a chance to interview at USF 4 years ago. I think he looked at USF and said -"To big of a risk. Nobody has won here since the Regan Administration - every coach has either been been fired here or run out of town in the last 20 years, no way I am risking all I have accomlpished at Winthrop for this place, I'll pass and wait for a better oppurtunity." I understand, but I think USF is night and day from what i was when RMC took this program over 4 years ago. I think the next coach is going to win a lot of games here.
