  1. I think you answered your own question ;D
  2. Rutgers was impressive tonight. National TV coverage will certainly help them. The announcers had a lot of good things to say about them and especially Ray Rice. I'm expecting them to make a move up the rankings. Ore and Neb lost today. Boise st was unimpressive against Idaho. Gtech is currently losing. Would have been nice if cal lost. A ranked Pitt would have been nice next week, but this season has worked out perfectly for the BE. We now have 3 legitimate contenders....all unbeaten. If Rutgers handles UCONN next week (they should) then we'll have 3 unbeaten teams coming into the 10th week of the season. Scheduling WVU vs. LOU late in the season was genius. Rutgers should move up the polls again next week and we may end up with 3 top 15 teams! Not only that but the BE will have several hyped up games, in the next month, that should get plenty of national coverage.
  3. good point dabull. I don't think this kid was even in the database at scout or rivals when he verballed (not sure if that's even a word). Another great find by the staff. Lets hope we can hold onto him for the next few months.
  4. studying, while waiting impatiently for sunday night to get here. :'(
  5. Wow. that's interesting. At least louisville only has us by 85 YEARS!
  6. Isn't rutgers graduating their entire starting o-line? Not to mention super-star fullback and tight end.
  7. We should beat UC by 3 TDs, but I always fear away games for the Bulls. It's going to take a couple of years to get over that UCONN game last year.
  8. Taurus Johnson is an excellent player who is fun to route for. Like Grothe, Nicholas, and Moffit, Taurus is one of those guys that plays hard, plays consistent, always exciting, and has done a good job off the field. Also, doens't run his mouth too much. These are the types of players that will always be fan favorites, and will help recruit more fans to the bulls nation. It's impossible not to route for these guys on gameday!
  9. I hope that was our let down, but I think that had more to do with our level of play from the D-line and RBs (which was pretty consistent with the way we had played in the weeks leading up to that game).
  10. To "catch" the big 3 in recruiting is going to take time. no way around it. We need more fans, more national attention, titles, tradition, more NFLers, consistent rankings, more "big-time" games, and more school spirit. We're going in the right direction, but one or two seasons of having a better team than FSU or MIA isn't going to make up for the above. It's going to be a while before we see Corso putting a rocky-the-bull head on in front of 1,000 wild USF fans. I can't wait for that day to arrive. That's when we'll know we've made it into the big leagues.
  11. We actually have our bye week after playing Cinci on sunday, so no short week going into the Pitt game. Hoping we can use that week to get our guys healed up (especially Griffin and Clebert).
  12. There's no reason to believe that we shouldn't be able to handle cinci this week. Based on the way we have played in the last two weeks I am confident that we will win. On the otherhand.......we do have that yearly let down on the road and I hope it doesn't show up sun night. Play the way we've been playing and we win this one no problem. Play poorly and we'll lose (ala UCONN 05).
  13. Yeah, I was looking at the Coaches poll from the ESPN website. That's the only one they've uploaded so far. I'm just bitter because I wanted to see Pitt ranked this week for the big "4 BE teams ranked" for the first time in a while. Now, there's pretty much no chance of that happening.
  14. I hate the polls! Georgia should not be ranked. Look at their season so far and tell me why they are in the top 25 teams in the nation. Only reason i can think of is because of the preseason ranking (which means nothing). They should have lost to colorado at home....colorado! They lost to Vandy @ home. They beat mighty MISS by 5! They are not a good team and will probably lose 4-5 games this year. Iowa should not be ranked. They've played one good team this year and were thouroughly trashed in that game (I realize it was OSU). They Lost to Indiana for crying out loud. UCONN and southern illinois easily handled indiana earlier in the year. Top 25 teams do not lose games like this, period. They will lose next week and will no longer be ranked but the fact that they are ranked this week is absurd. Another case of brand recognition and preseason ranking. Tirade over.
  15. Their game against Pitt should count as two losses ;D
  16. Cinci will be tough mainly because they are a decent team and we will have to travel north. I'm not sure if we can put together two good road games in a row. We can still beat Cinci even if we don't play our best game. At this point in the season for LOU, a win is a win. 2 weeks from now nobody (voters) will remember how close this game was. They'll look at the undefeated record and #1 offense.
  17. The W-L records are great this year, but the way the BE has been winning games is even more impressive. While we lack signature wins against Top 25 schools, we (BE) have been beating OOC teams soundly. WVU and LOU have spanked everyone they've played outside the conference. RUT has also had some huge margine of victories with shutouts. We all know PITT can run it up on a "lesser" opponent. Not going to be too many more opportunities for OOC wins this year for the BE, which is why today's 4-0 record was so important. Our decisive win today certainly contributed.
  18. Agreed. Can't be much worse than what we've had the first 6 games.
  19. 75 points in 2 games AND I think, they've all been scored by the OFFENSE. This is pretty unprecedented for USF in the last few years
  20. Not only did he put up good numbers, He looked good doing it. Ponton has much more speed, power, vision, and ability to break tackles than we've seen from our backfield. Only his first game as the feature back. Looks like we finally have a threat to break long runs.
  21. All around big week for the BE!! 4-0 in our OOC games. Doesn't get any better than that. Oh wait...... 3 undefeated teams this deep into the season IS even better. Another step in the right direction.
  22. "Golden Bulls" Pathetic. Is this a tampa writer????? Are you kidding me????
  23. But when you win 52-7 away from home on National TV.....voters may take a look back and realize they've actually played pretty good this year. I hope they're ranked and RUT is ranked when they meet up. You are right, though. A lot of teams to leapfrog this week.
