  1. A loss by MIZZOU would really help the BE (RUT and PITT).
  2. Especially in today's game. Both our running backs actually ran better than Grothe so why even risk running him off tackle? I don't think Grothe needed to run the ball at all today for us to win that game (except for any scrambling situations). Physically he is still a RS freshman....too much risk of injury or wearing down.
  3. No votes Definitely not ranked The squeekers to FIU (0-6) and UCF (2-4) hurt us early. Kansas has been losing also. We'll need to beat Pitt and crush CIN to recieve votes. I still feel like only half of the voters even know who we are. Maybe half of those can actually tell us apart from UCF. Golden Bulls???? typical
  4. 127 + 35 recieving remember when our RBs were also recieving threats????
  5. "USF always seems to have a UCON game every year." True.....But, we've never had a Grothe before.
  6. Rutgers will need a solid win this week to move up at all, regardless of this VT loss. there are too many teams that will leapfrog them into the lower 25 spots if they aren't impressive (including BC). Personally I'm hoping that they can continue to win and move up the rankings until they play pitt. It'd be great if Pitt could also win big and maybe squeek in at #25 next week for a top 25 matchup with Rutgers. That would really be big for the BE.
  7. next year. Rutgers is losing a large portion of thier offense to graduation, Pitt is losing it's "star" QB, and we get WVU/LOU at RayJay.
  8. Assistants are equally as important as the Head Coach in all of these areas covered above (recruiting/game day coaching/mid-week coaching/off-season coaching/discipline). None of our assistants are exactly being courtshipped, for head coaching jobs, like many of the other big time program assistants are. Anyone have any problems with our LB unit???? You think Leavitt coaches the LBs differently than the rest of the team? We've recruited well there, they play outstanding, they play disciplined, and they don't have off-field issues. All of our LBs make grades and make it on campus when recruited. A couple more assistant like Wally and we'd be set. Dawsey has certainly stepped it up with his group as well. I agree with the statement that Leavitt's loyalty has hindered some progress at this program. Most of the loyalty, however, was to the guys that had been here since the begining. I can only hope that the new contract and the BE affiliation will force him to treat the newcomers like any other major program would--performance based. Don't forget that the assistants salaries will also be increased steadily over the length of CJL's contract as well.
  9. Louisville may want to "embarass" us this year in papa john's, but I'm betting deep down they'll have a little bit of fear when week 11 rolls around (we seem to always match up well with them). We can beat Pitt at home barring any catastrophes between now and then.
  10. Grothe. 2 reasons: #1 He's a winner (not a coachable talent no matter how tall you are or how much you weigh) #2 He's proud to be a Bull (as am I)
  11. Nicholas--2 stars Mofitt--2 stars Trae Williams--2stars Slaton--3 star "athlete" and not ranked! The schools with the smaller numbers of subscribers are always going to be overlooked. I wouldn't put much stock in the rankings, but the stats, all-states, and all-star games seem to be just as important. The 5 stars are easy to rank/find, but separating the 2s, 3s, and 4s is where it gets tough with so many kids spread out all across the country.
  12. Neither CFN or Athlon made any mention of our suspended players returning for this game. Maybe they don't think there's going to be a big difference....or maybe they don't even realize we had 3 guys out all year. Either way, I think the 3 guys back for this week wil be the difference. We can hold their running game in check especially if with jjulmiste back. Would like to see a healthier cray and would love to see clebert out there sat.
