  1. Wow, must be nice to be able to eat $9 million just like that ...... That's incredible. I'd guess that was $2.8 mil total. I'd quess I need to learn to read better .... :-/ http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/football/ncaa/11/26/koetter.ap/index.html?eref=si_topstories Koetter's dismissal comes less than a year after Love gave him a contract extension through the 2009 season. The deal called for Koetter to be paid a total of $2.85 million from 2007-09.
  2. Yeah, and Leavitt says he wants to coach at USF the rest of his career, and Spurrier says he's staying at SC, Schiano says he isn't leaving Rutgers. Let's face it, somebody is going to move, Alabama isn't going to promote an Asst Coach. It will be a name you've heard, and 10 to 1 it will be a coach that said this week he wasn't leaving his school.
  3. I'm pretty sure the BOYS have been called BOYS on this board at one point or another. Lighten up. It's posts like this that really reflect badly on our university. Seriously, if you don't know why it's inappropriate to refer to adult female athletes as "girls," I suggest you go find out. you've never, EVER, said the words "come on boys!" when cheering for the MEN's basketball team or the football team?! Political correctness will and IS ruining our country. Like I said, lighten up. The original poster wasnt saying it with hate, get over it. Being sensitive to not insulting others is ruining our country? Please. We don't carry clubs and pull women around by the hair anymore. I don't think handling yourself with class and dignity is ever inappropriate.
  4. Per Deric, he will be in the book. The short answer is Deric has him as a 6C, right now he projects as fourth outfielder type.
  5. Deric doesn't have him listed, but I put out a message to see if anyone has info.
  6. Any bowl game for us is great! If we win, it's even better! 9-4 with a bowl win in our second Big East season would be phenomenal. As long as we win, we'll probably start next season in the Top 25. Incredible for a school with our football youth. Be happy!
  7. For those that like to follow former Bulls. It is premium content on BaseballHQ, so I can't copy. But, he has Baisley as a 7C prospect, which means he is a decent bet to become an average every day player. MLB debut is anticipated in 2009. By comparison, players ranked as 10's are almost non-existent, and there are about 25 9's in all the minor leagues. Deric's book Minor League Baseball Analyst comes out in January and is sold here: http://www.baseballhq.com/mlba.shtml
  8. Who's the source? "You, Bernie Horowitz! You are the they in that's what they say!"
  9. Leavitt is averaging $1mil per year over the ten years of his contract. It starts lower, and increases each year. He won't be making $1mil for a while.
  10. Nine out of ten coaches will say they are happy where they are at, and aren't looking for another job. Nine out of ten coaches are also contacted by "a friend of a friend" and asked what it would take to get them. It would take a bunch of money, great facilities and lots of tradition to get Leavitt, but he can be had. Seriously, if you were making less than $1mil per year, and someone offered you $3mil per year and a 75% larger budget to hire assistants, wouldn't you go? You can say that you don't need the money. If you don't need the money, couldn't you make a big difference in life by donating $2mil per year to useful causes? It isn't all about the money, but the money sure helps even if you just want to give it to someone else. I still expect Leavitt to stay.

  12. Hello! This is 2006, beating the 1959 National Champs (Cuse) - a team which only won 1 BE game in the past two years....and the 1980 National Champs - a team which only won 2 games in the BE this year - is hardly some thing to thump one's chest over. You're right. How about beating the #7 team in the nation on the road? How about ECU losing to UAB?
  13. Voss will likely reshirt, so he'll have a good year and a half before he needs to even practice. The knee is a non-issue.
  14. Fair enough, but I disagree with your assessment of USF's OOC schedule. First of all, we obviously have a much more difficult in conference schedule. If ECU was in the Big East, I seriously doubt they would be trying to pump up the OOC schedule. Secondly, the same could be said of our out of conference schedule. We had UCF, Kansas and North Carolina on the docket, all on the road. At the time of scheduling, Kansas and North Carolina were expected to be very good teams. UCF won C-USA last year. A pretty tough schedule if UCF and NC didn't collapse this year. McNeese was a late add due to the addition of the 12th game, though we will continue to play one D-IAA team each year (as will almost every other D-I program). Therefore, I submit that your criticism of our out of conference schedule is misplaced, and was as good as your out of conference schedule. Further, we played a much more difficult in conference schedule, and still had a better record than you. As for the win over WVU being a fluke, we beat #9 Louisville last year handily. We don't yet have the depth win against Top 10 teams consistently, but we are very, very close to being in the Top 25.
  15. Before I get started... Eats It, I take it all back, go get him! Ok, so we played three Top 15 teams to your 1. I'm very impressed. You seriously can't compare the schedules. You need to play a strong out of conference schedule since your in conference schedule is pathetic. By the way, you got destroyed by WVU at home, and we beat them on the road. I also wouldn't be very excited about Navy's eight wins. They beat absolutely NO ONE. Oh, and UVA and NCSU both had LOSING records. You played one Top 50 team all season, and got your butts kicked. Thank you for clearing things up for me. You are worse than I originally thought. You are the one that wanted to have an intelligent conversation. Would you rather have an intelligent conversation about your fantasyland?
  16. I appreciate that you are a stand up guy. On the other hand, my facts about our schedule seem to contradict your last sentence. Do you have any shred of evidence to support your claim?
  17. I sincerely hope you didn't or won't get a degree from USF. Will be starting my second shortly. And I've been posting here since before Al Gore invented the net, son. Lighten up, Francis. And that makes it all ok! There is trash talking, then there is being stupid and embarassing. Your recent posts make you sound like a Miami fan. You are better than that. (I hope)
  18. I sincerely hope you didn't or won't get a degree from USF.
  19. Perhaps we could demonstrate a bit more class while trash talking?
