  1. The Gators are still light years ahead of us. We've also got a long way to go to catch the 'Noles. I'm starting to wonder about the 'Canes though. They don't have many big time boosters, they play in a lousy and dangerous stadium, and their facilities aren't the best. They lived off of the fertile Miami talent for years. Now there are more options, USF, UCF, and even FAU and FIU in their own backyard. FAU has a beautiful new stadium. About all UofM has left is the name. Gotta wonder if that will be enough.
  2. I like Termites, maybe I'll use it for one of my fantasy teams next year. ;D
  3. Not much of a chance we go 5-0 the rest of the way. If we end up 7-5, with a good bowl showing we'll have had a very good season. If we can get to 8 wins, that would be sweet. 9 would be unbelieveable and probably have us ranked. Personally, I think we have a pretty good shot at winning one of the last two games, but I doubt we'll win all three before them. The Pitt game is asking a lot to come off of short rest and take them out.
  4. Nicholas had a sack today. Last I remember, he plays LB. So that would be a blitz.
  5. Pitt got up quick, "forcing" UCF to try and pass. To win games, UCF has to keep it close and eat the clock (see lack of speed above). Once that went out the window, so did UCF's chances for keeping it close.
  6. “They’re great guys,†Leavitt said. “[Whether they start] will be determined by how they practice. Nothing will be held against them. They’ve done a lot and have been severely punished  more than any other school in the country. I don’t think you’ll find any other school in the country that will punish them like we just did.†I think that sums it up.
  7. IF PONTON IS ON TEAM AND SERVED PUNISHMENT IT MAKES NO SENSE NOT TO START HIM WHAT STATEMEWNT ARE YOU MAKING"WE ARE NOT GOING TO PLAY OUR BEST PLAYERS ON TEAM" IF YOU ALLOW PONTON TO REMAIN ON TEAM YOU BETTER PLAY HIM WILLIAMS WILL GAIN NO YARDS AGAINST PIUTT,UL AND WV. Ya know, sometimes you need to step back and look at the bigger picture. From a team and motivational standpoint, you make a big statement by giving the start to Williams. I think the statement is clearly that if you bust your ass for this team and you produce you have the opportunity to start. That doesn't mean that Williams will be the featured back. It doesn't mean he will even be in there after the first series. It doesn't mean that he'll even touch the ball again his entire career here. It means that he'll be on the field for the first few snaps. It shows the other guys on the team that are in similar situations that they may be called upon to play and they may have the opportunity to earn a starting position too. By the way, if you only look at the yards Williams had in the first 5 games, it's pretty clear that you do not understand football. Williams was not the best rusher available to the team. However, the reason he was playing over Dorsey was that he understands the playbook better and did not miss any blocks. He may not have been as physical as Dorsey, but he did not miss any key blocks. Dorsey missed two key blocks at crucial times against KU that stalled drives. There is more to the RB position in this offense than just taking a handoff and running. Nobody has any grand illusions that Williams is going to be the featured back over Ponton, but his overall perfromance deserves the recognition of the start. Very heartwarming story. Now back to reality. Williams has already been awarded six starts for his hard work. Go Team Go. This isn't kindergarten. Ponton needs to get in shape quickly if he's going to help against Pitt, Cincy, WV and UofL. Let's not beat around the bush, and instead get Ricky the work he needs.
  8. If they haven't learned by now, will they ever? 6 games is a huge chunk of a player's college career. I think they were punished for what they did, now they have done their time, so let them play. Exactly. Now that your one week of restriction is over, I'm adding two more days so you really learn a lesson. Easy to see who on here doesn't have kids.
  9. of course he and other rbs should be put on scholarship hope leavitt isnt as stubborn as he was with the kicker. leavitt needs to do the right thing they bailed out players on scholarship Leavitt wasn't stubborn with the kicker. Leavitt told the kid he would get a scholarship in the fall, not in the spring when the team was limited to 25. This is evidenced by all the other kids Leavitt gave a schollie to this fall that contributed less than Bronson The kid didn't understand or, more likely, wanted to leave anyway and tried to find a way to blame it on the coaches so he wouldn't look bad.
  10. Starting jobs are earned in practice. Plenty of practice time between now and Saturday.
  11. Yeah. And ET may never use a smilie again.
  12. ET, you are hardly ruining my world. Well, other than putting those stupid smilies all over the place. As far as sounding stupid, you are the one trying to say that a third string walk-on with 200 yards in six games as a starter should start over the first string RB who demonstrated last year that he is a real D-I RB. Not me.
  13. Well, for starters, he yet to demonstrate the inability to run against an average Division I defense.
  14. If you are planning to educate someone, you should probably acquire knowledge first.
  15. Work his way into it? LOL If Ponton sat on his sofa and ate Ho-Hos all summer, he'd be a better running back on his first play back than Williams ever will be.
  16. Six game suspension is a more severe penalty than he would get anywhere else, including the NFL. He's more than paid for his transgressons. Either kick him off the team or let him play. If he plays, he has to start, he's light years ahead of Williams. To not start him continues to punish the rest of the team.
  17. Not sure what your point is, ET. But Rhode Island averaged 4 yards a carry against UConn.
  18. Um, ET. Williams already has six more starts than he deserved to have his whole college career. Now I understand why smazza gets ornery.
  19. You only had one smazza? Is a smazza stronger than vodka?
  20. The guy barely gets 100 yards against one of the worst run defenses in the country, and you want him to start over Ponton? Did anyone happen to watch the first five games? I'll be happy if Williams can be a not terrible second string RB over the second half of the season. He can catch passes and block. Maybe he can safely give Ricky a breather once in a while.
  21. Thanks, Shoop, for guaranteeing that we lose or have to win it in the final minute. Sheesh. :-/
  22. Although, if you just put your mouse over the top, you can see the link without actually pressing it.
  23. Too late. I already pressed it. : I just had to find out what it was...pretty funny. ;D
