  1. Maybe we could just split from the BB schools and go with the following: USF, UCF, ECU, Army, Navy, Temple, Cincy, So. Miss, UH, SMU and Tulsa. Honestly, I see something like this in our future.
  2. A-fking-men.....finally someone with some sense. agreed I'd rather compete at a lower conference than be a doormat in a higher conference. +1
  3. Guys, I think it's over. Until someone proves me wrong, this latest move will blast the nBE and USF into obscurity. I cannot see a great contract coming with the leftovers. I know I will be scorned for this, but maybe we and a few other allies need to think about forming a decent, east-of-Texas based conference with whoever's left. Wherever we land, we are not going to get much national exposure or love anyways. IMO, we need to think about travel costs and developing rivalries with similar institutions.
  4. So basically, we are in a winless situation? We are stuck with an inept AD, incapable football coach and are a member of a inferior conference. The last 10 years have been a cruel joke, haven't they?
  5. Maryland's gone to the B10. On deck - Rutgers, UConn and possibly, Louisville. The ship is sinking and we are stuck on it. http://espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/post/_/id/71795/maryland-regents-approve-big-ten-move
  6. I'm not trying to start a flame war or anything... If we don't get a lifeboat out of the NBE - honestly, how many of you are done with football? I know some of you are going to be like, "Oh no, a true Bulls fan would never turn his back...", "Don't let the door hit you on the way out..." But honestly, how many of your's perception of the program is going to change (if) when we are left holding the bags, stuck with a coach with zero enthusiasm and ability to win, possible recruit apathy and with a AD who from all indications recently, can't do anything right? Is it going to bother you when USF is completely ignored by the media? Is it going to sting if (when) we have an amazing season in whatever conference we are in and no one gives a s***? As a Green Jacket and a person who has given over $20k to various teams over the years though tickets, donations and auction fund-raisers, this is really beginning to bother me. Some of you will say, "I'll never give up on USF", but I have to believe there are some of you who think USF has given up on us.
  7. If all of the new rumored changes occur and the NBE is left without Rutgers, UConn and maybe Cincy, does Doug just throw in the towel and keep Skip because of our financial obligations? He'll know there are no more seats at the 'big boy conference' table. He'll know season ticket sales and some fan interest for football will suffer. However, I'm thinking if the realignment scenario comes to pass, the only thing that will build any kind of fan interest OR momentum will be to fire Skip and completely start over. I guess the question is, do we have the cash to buy Skip out and does DW have the balls to make a real change?
  8. Agreed. We are not going anywhere. When all of this is said and done, it will be about the 'legacy' programs consolidating and keeping the upstarts out of the picture. ESPN will not rest until the NBE is destroyed and the non-blue bloods are relegated to CUSA 2.0.
  9. That is assuming AW actually comes. I really hope he does. If not, Eveld will be our starter.
  10. Yep, I could totally see that happening. +1
  11. I am worried about Doug coming out and saying exactly this as to why Holtz will not be fired. At the very least, Cosh needs to go at the end of the season. If Skip is unwilling to let his buddy Cosh go in order to improve the program, we will know what his priorities and commitment to USF are.
  12. Sure, it's a great time to think of those less fortunate and those who lives can be made better by receiving gifts this holiday season. I am sure that those on this board who did not receive an official communication from the athletic marketing department will rise to the occasion and give what they can to this worthwhile charity. However, I think the point of this thread was to illustrate the systemic failures of the marketing department once again and to voice disappointment in something that could of (and should of) been better had marketing gotten the word out in an effective manner. The fact that there is no mention of this on the USF Athletic site in collaboration with an email campaign or hell, even something on Facebook shows how shortsighted this initiative is, IMO. If I were Toys-for-Tots, I would be disappointed if I thought USF was not insuring the maximum donation turnout for this event.
  13. perhaps you have an issue with you email provider. by all means get the ball rolling. go to home depot. get a big bucket. tape a piece of paper on it that says donations for hurricane relief and sit in front of gate 4. why are you calling someone else to do something that you can do for yourself? Give it a ******* break, 94 ... The email is nowhere to be found in my Outlook and it's not the first time something like this has happened to me, and obviously others. I thought there was something a while ago said about a third party that distributes emails at times which could be a problem but that one looked like it came from in house. Toys for Tots is a great program and needs to be put out there... There's still nothing on the website that I can find. perhaps you have a problem with your email provider. I doubt they took you off the distribution list. either way you know about it so you can bring your gift with you to the game. people need to stop ******** about anything to do with marketing. it gets old. I also did not receive an email mentioning Toys-for-Tots and like Dhambuc, USF seems to have no problem finding me when they want me to pony up cash or go to a banquet dinner or something. And also like Dhambuc, I am a donor, football, basketball (and baseball) season ticket holder. In my opinion, USF Sports Marketing often falls short when it comes to promoting our games, building excitement or maintaining contact with the fan base we do have. To me, it does not feel like (some) members of the marketing department care about the Bulls as much as people who post on here do. I wonder if that is the case at other schools.
  14. I'll probably go if I can get out of class by 7:30 or so to check out my seats for this season.
  15. This is great! Thanks to who made this! I just made it my FB profile pic!
  16. I think Cristobal would be a great hire for the program.
  17. I don't know if anyone's posted a link to this yet, but here it is - http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1310558-college-footballs-hottest-fan-bases-of-2012-ranking-all-120-schools/page/86
  18. I don't have a problem with the War Flamingo - I think it's kinda cool. I like the idea of having something silly that only USF does. The towels? - already done by others. Our hand gesture \m/? - already done by others. War Flamingos? - all ours.
  19. we would win 1 conference champ every 50 years. there is the big 2 and all the rest. no thanks. I'd rather be a big fish in a little pond and compete than be a small fish in a big pond and never amount to anything. I honestly don't care how much money it would mean for our athletic department. if we can't win big east with $2M coach and brand new facilities then there isn't much hope in big 12 regardless of all the extra money.wvu will now go back to winning one conference champ every 25 years. they have made themselves irrelevant nationally again. they had it great in the big east without miami and v tech. 3 bcs bowls and almost a shot at national champ if they hadn't gagged on a 4-7 pitt team. now they will be lucky to finish top half of league on average. This is how I've felt about USF and realignment for a while. I totally agree with you, Bull94.
