  1. What's the Friday morning Show Band gig? I would assume that's not going to be at the team hospital visit.... right?
  2. They should have a free pizza with proof of bowl game ticket purchase deal :-P
  3. judging by the seating chart, pointing or at least angling towards the Bulls faithful will also put you in the direction of the bulk of the stadium, so it seems like a win-win.
  4. If you OWN - much less wear - Eagles apparel, you should just go ahead and find the nearest bridge and drive off of it. We wont miss you.  Interestingly enough, I was all Eagles-ed out yesterday here in NC... got a Go Eagles in the grocery store and many other looks like "what's this guy doing here?"
  5. Gotta do something about their colors... these look much better: ;D
  6. Oh wait... no. Purple Raiders. Same Difference. My mistake. http://www.muc.edu/athletics/men_s_teams/football ;D
  7. 1. Most Pleasant Surprise of the 2006 Regular Season? Grothe taking the reins of the team and showing not just the physical ability as a quarterback, but the leadership as well. 2. Biggest Disappointment of the 2006 Regular Season? the loss, but just as importantly the not showing up to play, at Cincy. 3. Best Memory of the 2006 Regular Season? Being in Morgantown, WV for the Bulls victory 4. Worst Memory of the 2006 Regular Season? I'll say Cincy again. That was one of the few games I got to see on TV and we stank it up in front of a nationwide audience. 5. Do you plan to upgrade your tix or donation within the next 5-10 years? I don't live in Tampa now, so there are no tix, and my current donations have just been what I've donated to the University (and more recently, the Herd of Thunder). I hope to be in a position to increase each of those in the next 5-10 years.
  8. Gotcha Joe--thanks for the info. I agree that an ad campaign for purchasing tickets probably isn't the best idea; hearing their ad just sparked the gears moving. Something to the degree of an awareness type thing after we bring back a trophy would be cool though.
  9. "56" would be a good one, for the University itself...
  10. I heard an ad on the radio yesterday about ticket packages to follow "Your Deacs" to Miami for the Orange Bowl (I live the next city over [same radio market] from Winston-Salem where Wake is located). Anything of the sort going on down our way? I'd like to think that those who would buy the tickets are already aware, but who knows, there could be some alum under a rock in Tampa who realizes he'll be in AL visiting family for the holidays anyway and ought to go buy a ticket. At the very least, some sort of ad campaign could be launched after the win, just as an awareness that USF football exists and WINS. I'd love for there to be a "Tampa congratulates our USF Bulls on their bowl victory" or something of the sort!
  11. Done and done! [smiley=thumbsup.gif] [smiley=GoBulls.gif]
  12. ;D Jim, there were actually folks at the WSSU game a few rows ahead of me who, while trying to figure out who they were playing, entertained the University of South Central Florida as an option before getting it right.
  13. I should hope not... USF'd probably get a bad case of HerpeGonoSyphilAids screwing around with FTU.
  14. http://www.thebullspen.com/public_html/yabbfiles/Smilies/roflmao.gif Two days before Christmas... other than USF and ECU fans, no one will be watching anyway... and I could care less if the ECU fans turn the game off at half time. Remember... the Saturday before Christmas is the busiest shopping day of the year. Perhaps it wasn't "casual fans" I meant, but rather, those who are true football fans but have little stake in either team. An interesting game may keep 'em around. And yes, it's the busiest shopping day of the year, but if you've already waited till the last minute, why not go all out and head out at 6pm to hit the mall? Still gives you plenty of time to get the 1:00 game in. 8-)
  15. In the Assman's quasi-defense, I think his "none [underclassmen] to keep an eye on" was in terms of draft potential, so even Mighty Matt Grothe's not getting the nod in that respect. Still, the article was, well, Ass, man. Nonetheless, I wish the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls the best in their bowl debut.
  16. I'm of two minds. On the one hand, I want us to go utterly apetish on the purple pirates both to shut 'em up and make our case for end-of-season or 2007 pre-season ranking. On the other hand, one part of the entire bowl picture is television rankings. I want a game that's clearly ours, but that casual fans will still stick around and watch.
  17. I think particularly if we can garner a pre-season ranking, combined with a weak Bucs year, we could certainly see more butts in our stadium come next September.
  18. You're either independently wealthy, self-employed, or unemployed. It's entirely doable even if someone works a M-F 9-5, so long as they either get the week between Christmas and New Year's Day off, or take vacation time then as many do. The biggest conflict is games conflicting with one another.
  19. Sugar Hill Gang, "Apache" actually. And cool! Did y'all add that after the bowl game last year? I remember the PSotS played that and it was one of the things they had going for them.
  20. Anyone (to your knowledge) who's typically more a fan of USF Athletics than the HOT itself show up?
