  1. I'm not completely convinced yet... Cmon, Trip.  Does he need to say "If this dog dont hunt, pull this turkey" for you to be 100% convinced Ari is one shrewd dude .... theoretically speaking.
  2. better yet, we all know he is a student here, he could have been at the game Are you 15 yrs old? Edit: I just saw your signature ... You ARE 15 yrs old.
  3. If McCullum returned next season, but was fired before April 15, 2008, the school would owe him $200,000. However, if he returned and was fired after April 15, 2008, USF would owe him an additional $100,000 annuity he collects on April 15, 2008.
  4. Do you have a link for all these figures? The highlighted info is wrong, unless Brett has it wrong. Per Brett's Trib article yesterday, that $100K is an additional payout to the $200K after April 18.
  5. Just in case some weren't aware, and with your melodramatics, you didn't clarify, he didn't sit the whole game. He played 22 min. I think ALL would agee, at least pertaining to next season. No matter who is coaching next year, the team should be improved because of more talent available to play. ÂÂ
  6. Thanks, Eric. I thought it was on ESPNU yesterday, too ....
  7. The BIG EAST Conference has the television rights for the tournaments.  They've contracted it out to ESPNU.  We can't televisie it locally.  If you have a problem with this than contact the BIG EAST Conference.  It's not their fault ESPN and Brighthouse can't workout a deal. Eric Just curious but how did Catch 47 get the game yesterday but not today?
  8. I've seen her national championship!  Girls or boys, getting to that level requires something special! Never work here. I saw her yell at her players when they played the Bulls...
  9. See, all that fraternizing with the Kanigits is rubbing off on you .... 8-)
  10. My sentiments exactly Just to clarify for you two, the article today was not news. The game report tomorrow will be news. The decision about Mac will be news. Today's writing was a column. A reporter doesn't need to "where" a cheerleader skirt and shake pom-pom's for the school but, in the same vein, he shouldn't needlessly be inclined to take shots at USF and their coaches on a semi-regular basis either. If you think that all Brett does is just report the news, you're sadly naive. Could you amagine the media at Duke if they were in the same boat we are? I can't imagine Duke EVER being in the same boat we are so the answer to your question is "no".
  11. no he has not dug "the program" a deeper hole, 5 reasons 1. the talent pool will be better than last year (cupboard not empty or full of spoiled goods) 2. his buyout is smaller 3. attendence was up 4. we had no scandals in the bball program 5. DW will have more time to find the "right" coach for our situation. (not a top 50 job in hoops) One more year may be critical to moving USF forward LONG TERM. DW will have maintained the image of a patient AD that will gives his coach time to turn this program around, also with one more year of BE $$$ we can start the upgrades in Bball and add more resources for salaries as well. This will help us attract better pool of coaching talent. This is my opinion. Excellent points, 96. Maybe a fresh voice saying will help it sink in more...  Although I'm not sure if #3 is accurate, though

  13. i hope u are sad Hey, Einstein, you do realize he said he won't be sad EITHER way, don't you?
  14. Is this just a hunch or are you basing it on something else? Brad is dead on with his Tampa not being sophisticated when it comes to college hoops, and I'd have to throw in the USF students, as a whole, in with that. I can vividly remember sitting in the dome during SG's reign with a USF team with a respectable record, an exciting team but not many more people in the stands than we have now and thinking "how much longer is Seth going to put up with this?" Somebody else has also pointed it out but the general apathy of USF hoops loosely coincides with the start up of football. Basketball used to be the only major avenue for school pride and spirit and I don't think it's a coincidense that that the hoops apathy lines up with the emergence of football.... just my opinion.
  15. I assumed the stability and small steps included more financially responsive action to go along with it.
  16. Beautifully put... and Mac is the embodiment of that opinion.  Our two most recent coaches had success at their stop previous to USF and the one who has moved on has found enormous success at his current stop. Maybe it's time to step back and take another look at that belief.
  17. Ah, so THAT explains this poll: Fire Mac   49 (66.2%) Keep Mac  25 (33.7%)
  18. Isn't that a bit contradictory? You talk about how talented the players are and then call the coach a horrible recruiter. I'm pretty sure Herm does stuff like that just to mess with people. He's not that ignorant.... but he is very good at prodding.
  19. Brad said it somewhere else in all this mess: (paraphrasing) Facts sometimes take a back seat to emotions.
  20. If he's let go this year, there will be peace on the board...
