  1. According to ari, he's had 5 top 20 recruiting classes. I don't think there's a name out there even remotely available that would bring in fans on name alone.
  2. This couldn't have come at a worse time with our search for a new coach. I'd be amazed if we get a head coach that's already having a success getting to the Big Dance at a lower tier conference.... unless we throw a boatload of money at him. Looks like a hungry assistant may be a more realistic option.
  3. Alright....Huggins talk can take place on the General Sports Forum, the K-State Board, UC Board or the www.funkyfantasy.com boards. You'll have to excuse some people. You don't get over a man crush that easy...
  4. I sure hope yopu are right.  I have met the guy and he is outstanding as his record shows. not lutz Lutz isn't on your List of 100?? I think we need to see that list...
  5. Clever ....... except for the fact that Gallagher couldn't fill the arena. Keep trying, though. The law of averages say that one day you're bound to say something humorous.
  6. Sadly, I must agree...but still we must charge on!  How about Tony Dungy as HC?  ;D Forgot about him...Ok, there are two coaches capable, TD and Norman Dale.
  7. You want to send some people over the edge .... Hire a Div II coach .... ANY Div II coach. I love Coach Schmidt and still have fond memories of going to games with my dad and watching UT kick FSC's ass .... Right, ET? .... but there's no way he should be considered for USF.
  8. Ultimately, the AD is responsible, which is why he made the move .... but the AD is also responsible for giving the coach the tools needed to do his job competently and all Mac did was intimate that that wasn't the case... Something we all already knew.
  9. Cedric was one of my favorite players but he would have to be eons ahead of where he is right now to be a serious candidate considering all the criteria that has been tossed about in here regarding the position.
  10. I love Christmas too .... but I have an easier time believing that there really is a Santa Claus than to believe that there is anybody available out there that the Tampa Bay community will identify with and cause them to fill seats at the Dome before the winning occurs. I'm just hoping they fill the seats when we do start winning. The initial buzz will HAVE to come from the students...
  11. Of course he did. Wake wasn't ranked...  Seth is doing a great job up there which only illustrates that the problems here won't go away with a simple coaching change.
  12. Why?? Your boy Speraw should be available... ;D
  13. I say fire him .... Maybe Wollard can get some type of a package deal for basketball and football coaches .... Can one of the Harricks coach football??
  14. To be perfectly honest, I'd just prefer to wait to see if that does happen rather than start with a bunch of "what happens when" things ....
  15. I saw the box and, from the position of his stats, wondered if he started ... ****, that's great. He hadn't been getting that much PT before this, had he? Injuries or just a shake-up the reason for the start? Atlanta isnt very deep.  joe johnson may be out for the season and even though they play different positions, Solomon will get some extra PT for it.  Marvin Williams was out with a bad back the game Sol started, but it seemed all year he was getting some good time until about a month ago when they stopped playing him as much.  Dont know why the sudden change again, must be impressing the coaches in practice.  It'd be nice if TBS would carry their games so we'd have a chance to see him down here...
  16. Just when you think you've seen it all ...... :
  17. Seriously, if it's not Jr OR Sr I'm going ari on the board...
  18. Great finds, BB. Hopefully, the next coach does a little research and knows exactly what he's getting into before making comments like some of those.
  19. That's really a great way to put it. If nothing else, the quality level, quality refering to talent and personality, of the team is better than it was when he took over. Obviously not where it needed to be, talentwise, at this point in time but the next coach should have a solid foundation of g/f types for several years but needs to go get more big men to replace KG.
  20. I saw the box and, from the position of his stats, wondered if he started ... ****, that's great. He hadn't been getting that much PT before this, had he? Injuries or just a shake-up the reason for the start?
  21. I honestly don't think there will be much of a problem for, at least, a couple of years. There are three factions in play here. The darksiders whose euphoria should last for a while. There are the good guys, who have the faith that DW knows what he's doing and will do the best he possibly can within whatever limitations we have .... And then there's the third faction, who, if it's anyone less prestigious than Dean Smith, will call for "Wollard's" head. ÂÂ
  22. I still think we're better off as a program than before and the rebuilding shouldn't be as monumental ..... hopefully. :-/
