  1. Well, I guess I ran out of time to edit my grumpy post about my *assumed* price increase.. Sooooooooooo - sorry to anyone that only read that far and was unaware of the 7th game thing (like I was). Looks like it's allllllllll good! I gotta say though, I agree with what BaltoBull is saying. If you're taking me back to Conf USA - take me back to 2003 prices! ;-D
  2. The "donation" is for seating in certain sections and/or club access. $1000 is our grandfathered rate - I believe our section is up to $5K now!! It's the same per game price as last year. We have one extra game on this years schedule. OK - My bad then!! If that's the case (7th home game), then doing the math it LOOKS like my per game ticket price may have actually gone down a buck or two!! I'll have to go edit my post - and thanks for the info!! (I'm outta the loop until Sept rolls around lol).
  3. My tickets are up $200 ($33 / seat) over last year: $1635 + $1000 "Donation" = $2635 total I've got to admit I'm a little disappointed. I was hoping they'd at least remain the same price - if not drop a tad. I mean, we no longer even have a conference (per se). Will <insert name here> even be AQ? And the donation for club access has turned into a joke - in the beginning they at least had some better grub up there. Don't get me wrong - I'm excited about Coach T (really, I am!!) - and I'm really optimistic that things are going to turn around!! I guess I was just hoping for a little more support for the fans through this major transition period. As it is, I already know of two other season ticket owners (from Day 1, like me) that *want* to renew, but they just don't think they'll be able to this year. When they hear that prices have gone up (even slightly) it's just going to make it that much harder to "sell it" to the sig other. :/
  4. The only good thing I can come up with is that HOPEFULLY now the remainder of our home games will be 7PM starts... At least we won't have to sit through this torture in blazing Noon sun.
  5. I'm in!! Only 14,999 to go! That's a tiny fraction of what our 6 seats (and "club donation") costs each year... The troops are already suggesting that we don't bother renewing next year given the coaching situation the past few years - and we've had these 6 seats since day 1 in the Old Sombrero.. Something has to be done, I just don't see Doug or Judy doing it.
  6. Wow!! It was tough to pick only three from this bunch!! LBs have been a strong suit for us over the years!
  7. Why can't we get more people (not even fans per se) in the stands with $10 tickets?!?! I mean, for less than a ticket to a movie on a Sat night, you can get out to a pro stadium a watch a college game. I wonder if there's anything in the budget to actually promote these games. I've never seen a commercial - not even on local cable (i.e. BN9) here in Pinellas. I've got to believe that if folks knew that they could get $10 and $20 tickets they'd come out..
  8. It's listed as a 7PM game on Ticketmaster - for whatever that is worth. FSU's game against SAVAN St was a 6pm game, so there is hope..
  9. There was no password, you just have to purchase from within your account - and each account is limited to 4 tickets and 1 transaction.
  10. It was nice (yet also sad and disappointing) to see Coach Leavitt sooooooooooooooooo pissed off at the end of that game!! I don't think I've seen him that pissed and disgusted before! I think he REALLY REALLY wanted this one - and it looked like he had that same disgust in him at that end that all of us have felt at times watching this season. I'm hoping that that *sting* stays with him through the off-season and helps him make the right staff decisions (if they really are his decisions to make) on the offensive side of the ball. GO BULLS!! Already lookin forward to Fall 06! 8)
  11. Criminal that a star like Andre Hall would have to be handcuffed by such a lame and *Offensive* offense... I mean, he had 1300+ yards - with NO PASSING GAME support!! Can you imagine what kind of year he would have had if defenses would have actually had to respect our passing game?! Incredible!! I don't even see how to lay the blame on one particular person or position. It seems like it was a group effort this year between QB (if you wanna call him that), Receivers (how many drops did we have these last 3 games??), and OC (nice gameplan, 'coach')... As amazing - and FUN - as it's been to watch Hall these past two years, I can only wonder just how many more feats he would have been able to accomplish with an offense to support him! It's sad to see him go... I hope for Ponton's sake (and for the Defense, and the fans) something happens w/ this offense, cuz this year's 'productivity' was pathetic. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES A. HALL! p.s. ok, maybe some of the receiver drops were because they were just shocked that the ball actually hit them in the numbers for once... ;D
  12. Ahhh... so then you also heard them laughing throughout the 4th quarter - and saying "QB Keeper" before every snap like I did.. good times wasn't it?? Thanks Rod Smith...
  13. I just don't get it... Yeah - Hill was in for a good portion of the 2nd half, but - COME ON!!! QB Keeper Left, QB Draw Middle, QB Keeper Right, - repeat several more times... WHAT IS GOING ON HERE???!! ARE THOSE THE BEST PLAYS WE CAN COME UP W/ DOWN 3 SCORES?!?!? They were bringing their safeties up and we're still running freaking QB Keepers... A few times Hall stayed in to block, but when he did, Hill rolled waaaaaaaaay outta the pocket - and never would just throw it away.. Oh - except for the last play I saw, where he "threw it away" right into the arms of WVU defender... Sorry to complain... but I'm a very worried "day 1" season ticket holder - and I'm not seeing it get any better... IF - IF - IF it is Rod Smith that is calling these asinine plays (clock running, down by 3 scores, 8 men in the box and keep calling QB keepers???) - If that is all he has, then yeah - I don't see this team doing much better than 6-5.. ever... which is really really really disappointing! (the strikes that CH did throw did look pretty nice - alot of heat on the ball! hopefully there is some potential there - IF they ever put together some schemes to go downfield.. ugh - and don't even get me started on these lame patterns they have the receivers running...) OH - and gee... should we be concerned that during the last regular season game, CH had to refer to his cheat sheet (which was HUGE - so big he was wearing it on his waist!!) for EVERY FREAKIN PLAY!?!?!?!? Is he NOT studying the offense - does he NOT have a grasp on it yet... after a year?!?! Again - sorry folks.. venting.. and frustrated.. and already worried about "next year"... :-/
  14. EXXXACTLY!!  I'm sure the same one's that whine about having to 'drive to the stadium' have noooooooooo problem getting their weekly (nightly??) rides into Ybor!!  Whether they live on campus, or if they're "commuters" from Pinellas! Pathetic! I'm sure they're also the same ones that would complain that USF atmosphere isn't the same as going to a UF or FSU game...   WAKE UP!!  IT'S WHAT *YOU* -THE SUDENTS- MAKE IT!!  GET INVOLVED!  SUPPORT YOUR SCHOOL!!  SHOW SOME PRIDE!! **edit:  eh...  I guess I'm just preaching to the choir here... those same folks will probably never see this - they're too busy reading a Gator or Nole forum...  :
  15. Definitely!! I did *NOT* like last year's 11 AM start times - at all!!!! >
  16. Actually though... I think people only started tearing up those banners AFTER the initial rush / tackle / taz started... I think the tearing of the banners was due to people being pissed off at the way the others were being treated... it was when everyone started booing.. At least that's the way *I* remember seeing it... On a related note, I remember the FIRST time that fans rushed the field - and they LET them - and it as all pretty innoncent and harmless... A HUGE group rushed the field and celebrated with the players.. After that initial rush, the security tried to stop others - but that was only after like 10 mins.... thing were calmed down and the initial group was already headed for the stairs to leave the field (on their own)... I think it's a chicken and egg.. initially the fans just rush out and want to celebrate... things only seem to get ugly when all the tackling / arrests happen.. Then it turns from celebration into more of a 'rebellion' thing... :-/
  17. We'll be there... Providing Wilma doesn't wipe out the Howard Franklin, Gandy, or Courtney Campbell.. As long as I can still get to Tampa...
  18. All the more reason to catch the 1 or 2 that actually do get downfield...   ;D
  19. Is there any way we could get them to pepper spray certain members of the coaching staff?? Maybe tazer a receiver or two to get them jump started on catching some balls?? I'm not naming any names... ;D
  20. Hell...  Even Notre Dame stormed the field against USC... However, they got something MUCH worse than a tazer... 7 SECONDS BACK ON THE CLOCK!!   ~doh~
  21. Section 237 will be in full force!! (well.. at least our lil piece of it.. lol) What's that?? Chicky's bringin' dessert? Sweeeeeet!
  22. I'm a big Fan of Coah Levitt's...  simply out of respect and appreciation for all he's done for South Florida football... THAT BEING SAID... I'm soooooooooooooooo **** frustrated w/ our coaching!!!!  > I don't know if it's Levitt, Smith, or the whole bunch, but there are tooooo many frustrating things at that level... Where was the gameplan??  Especially after a bye??  Where is the creativity??  The Louisville game was a MASTERPIECE!!   Where was that creativity before that game??  And where has it gone since?? I'm sooooo frustrated by the - hmm - not sure how to describe it...  the "old school, old style, classy, respectful football" that we seem to play... I posted any earlier post about what USC and Pete Carroll just did in South Bend...  Dirty Pool, but hey, THEY WON!!  They didn't settle for 3 and OT - they played "dirty" and they WON!  Would our staff have the 'stones' to pull off something like that?? Or would we consider it 'disrespectful'?  Sooooooooo many times I've sat in the stands wanting us to go for the jugular - really put it to a team...  (like we did to UL), but instead we play 'classy and respectful' - and I've seen it cost us! Sorry - bit of a rant, but, it sure seems like it's a new era of college football (for better or worse) and our coaching staff needs to adapt to that if we want to win and get noticed... Come on - even JOE PA has adapted, and look at the turn around there! Maybe we can start next week against WV  ???
  23. what just happened in South Bend!! OMG - did you see that??  Imagine that at RJ...  Everyone in the place (all 27,000 of us.. heheh) think we've just won the biggest game in our history - the students storm the field (well.. only to get tazered at RJ hehe) and then we find out there was a fumble out of bounds...   PUT 7 SECONDS BACK ON THE CLOCK!  OK - so - it's perfectly legal, but, come on, that's some dirty pool...  Coach Pete calling for Leinhart to spike the ball, Leinhart signaling that he's gonna spike the ball...  stop the clock...  huddle up... "REF GET OUTTA THE WAY!!!"...  <whistle>..  wind the clock...  here comes the spike... OH NO!!!  IT'S A FAKE - A KEEPER - LEINHART'S IN FOR 6!!!!  Losing to Pitt today certainly sucks...  but we can't feel as bad as the Irish are feeling right now...  ;D
