Have we heard a new count yet? We heard about 1,500 tickets sold in the first day. Is there ANY news on how Tuesday went or how today went?

Alright man, just don't let them take too long b/c it's booking up REAL quick! Especially after the publicity it got on here! My folks are still "mulling over" whether or not they want me to be away for NYE when they never see me thanks to being pwned by med school..... but I booked anways b/c they are going to be cool with it in the end whether they know it right now or not, LOL! Not sure how many she ordered, but I'll ask for yah.

I know you're heading up too - where did you end up booking your hotel room? I think Brittany and I booked in the Wyndham thanks to Kyle's post of their comparatively mad cheap rates. I persuaded Brittany to stand outside the Sun Dome TicketMaster early Monday morning to get the best possible student tickets, so hopefully we'll be close to the front thanks to her.

Here's what I don't understand; the media spends weeks bashing the Big East, calling it a weak conference, talking smack about it sending a no-name unranked team to a BCS bowl, and spreading ideas about the "Big Least" to every corner of the U.S. Yet, I have seen NO articles, NO comments, and NO TV mention of the fact that the ACC is sending an 8-4 FSU which has lost to THREE unranked opponents this season and isn't even ranked in the top 20. The BE is sending a top-12 team that is 10-1, which played plenty of unranked opponents and didn't lose. Not only that, but USF's record would have been 8-3 if we had gone to a BCS bowl, EVEN BETTER THAN FSU's. This is BULL. ESPN had a photo of Mike Tranghese on its college football page at a media conference defending the strength of the conference for a week. WHERE is the commissioner of the ACC having to defend a nasty, Seminole SKUNK in the BCS garden??????

How does the 1,500 count not include students, JimUSFSig? Students were able to purchase tickets yesterday, and I know of several who bought them in blocks of 30 and 40 to take up entire organizations. If that count DIDNT include students I'll be happy.... but if it did.... we're in trouble....

I am just quite dissapointed that McCullum has had over a year to recruit and has brought in NO ONE. Last year's team was a decent team - Swift, Prekevicious, Bryant, etc. We were moving to the Big East, looking at facilities renovation with a brand new Athletics complex - TONS of good talking points and potential, yet I see no recruits. The two or three freshmen we've got we would have gotten anyways, and Buckley was going to transfer before McCullum got here. A large percentage of our team is walk-ons. WTF. Besides, the walk-ons that are there don't have half the talent that the folks who come out of the woodwork to compete in intramurals do. SEND RMC TO INTRAMURAL BBALL TO RECRUIT!!!! We'd do a hell of a lot better than now.....

I disagree Kyle, I think he's quite right, as do many others of us on this board.

Brittany and I already have our plane tickets booked for North Carolina. I'll be calling this week to make hotel reservations too. New Year's in the big NC baby, here we come!!!! OK, UConn was dissapointing. But we've got a young team that will be excellent as they mature next year, we'll be in a more decent bowl game than most football programs, and hopefully all the Big East teams will fare well in their bowl games, shutting up the critics. I doubt it, but at least we'll take care of bidness ;-)
