  1. If we could have just beaten Pitt we'd be ranked right now.....
  2. My broke ass has flown in for every home game but Louisville (Immunobiology/Microbiology final prevented that one). And it will continue to do so!! P.S. USF's band is WAY WAY WAYYYYYYYY better than UMiami's band. They don't move their instruments, they make poor formations, and you can't even hear their crap. Our band would 100% have overshadowed them at the UM-USF game if not for the fact that their band was mic'ed up to the stadium speakers. I'm proud of our HOT!
  3. We lost to Pitt and still played sloppy offensively in the Syracuse game. If we beat WVU it's because our defense makes it happen. But I don't think a mostly one-sided team will win a game that so much is riding on and when our opponents have so much to lose. As much as I'd happily go into debt to make a bowl game, I think we're going to be spanked by WVU and end up in the Car Care Bowl, since the Gator Bowl will pass us over for Louisville. Sorry smazza, usually we see eye to eye.....
  4. ATTN ALL TPD/TSA EMPLOYEES: If USF wins the WVU game, I and multiple friends WILL be rushing the field. And if you've got Tazers, clubs, mace, or whatever sick and twisted toys you want to employ, I will not hesitate to rush IN SPITE of them. And this time, if you punch my 90-pound girlfriend in the face in the name of "saving goalposts," I will not hesitate to prepare my bank accounts for bail, and I will be there to respond with equal and opposite force.
  5. I see your logic. It's just dastardly to think that not only will we have BEATEN Louisville, but their schedule has been WAY easier. They are definitely overrated. Check it out: 09/04 at Kentucky W 31-24 --> sucky team 09/17 Oregon St W 63-27 --> sucky team 09/24 at S Florida L 45-14 --> kick-ass team 10/01 FAU W 61-10 --> sucky team 10/08 UNC W 69-14 --> sucky team 10/15 at W Virginia L 46-44 --> good team 10/22 at Cincy W 46-22 --> sucky team 11/03 Pittsburgh W 42-20 --> sucky team 11/11 Rutgers 8:00 PM --> okay team 11/26 Syracuse TBD --> sucky team 12/03 at UConn TBD --> sucky team Who is Louisville or anyone else to say that wins agains Oregon St., FAUU, and UNC can compare to losses against high-ranked Penn State (barely a loss) or UMiami (top 4)? OK we lost to Pitt. Waaah. Doesn't make their team any **** better than ours after that ass-beating we gave them. We should get picked over L'ville ANY DAY!
  6. You can't blame Smazza for being pessimistic. We beat Louisville and make it on Espn.com's front page, yet we lost to a crappy team like Pitt. Rutgers has a better record than Pitt, and didn't lose to lesser teams like Pitt has. Therefore, Rutgers can be considered better than Pitt. We're not playing at home, and we can't seem to win a game on the road. I'm really hoping for a win here, especially after we have had three weeks off to beat the basics back into our heads. And of course, the season is "on the line" at this point. But I'm not holding my breath. Just making sure I've got plenty of beer in case things don't go in our favor, maybe I won't remember the end ;-)
  7. Nah, I get to "storm the court" whenever I want to... football fields are a bit harder to work that out with....
  8. Totally agreed. We are Louisville's annoyance-turned-nemesis after the past few years. UCF can *wish* for a big rivalry, but that's about as sensible as FAU hoping for a big rivalry with Miami. I respect FAU a lot by the way, I visited that campus, and they really strive to drum up school spirit in innovative ways.
  9. Agreed. I don't think they'll want to play us any time soon, but depending on our successes in the next few years, I'd heavily hesitate to say never.
  10. I'm curious, now that I've got you here. Has Senate taken a stance on the proposed requirement for FTIC's to live on campus? Or the tuition increases? Has the new ERC Commissioner been chosen, given that we changed the date last year (and elections will really be screwed if one hasn't)? Has there been discussion about the CITF funds and the ROTC's request for help with an obstacle course? Did ANYONE in SG publicly show disgust that virtually no SG members attended Midnight Mania, an event that SG PLANNED in the past several years (and it was much better attendance)?
  11. You're in Senate, right? Does he run things well? I hear Senate just doesnt accomplish nearly as much as it used to since the officers are so focused on efficiency that they elect to cut essential things out and label them unnecessary. In fact, I remember a LOT of arguments with Frank and Jeremiah on one side, several of us on another, in which "efficiency" was offered as the main argument against potential accomplishments or "lengthy" resolutions. I think Stavros led a good intermediate - still accomplishing all that Senate historically has, yet doing so in the most efficient manner possible. What do you think?
  12. Thanks man ;-) How is Senate these days? I hear you're getting out after an hour, hour and a half. WOW. Quite a difference from the days I remember when we had to RE-CONVENE at 1AM in the MC Breezewayto finish arguing. Even just last year we had most meetings go until 10 or 11, and a few go to midnight.
  13. Actually, that was a jab at Bijal. I don't know if I heard whether or not Maxon voted in favor of the NEW increases. I think I heard both, and I can't seem to access the BOT minutes from here to find out which it was. I recognize your SN but why can't I place who you are flsportsfan83?
  14. It was one of the smaller, outdated dorms (Eta I think, but not sure). It's now a lot cheaper to live off campus than to live on campus, whereas it used to be only somewhat more expensive. Somewhat more expensive is acceptable since you pay for the convenience of living on campus, but it's now significantly more expensive, pushing people away as a result. Perhaps the students should have elected someone who wouldn't vote on the Board of Trustees in FAVOR of such cost increases.....
  15. I'll tell you what would help. This year, USF is considering forcing EVERY freshman First-Time-In-College Student to live on campus for the coming year. Why? Because they have finally raised the prices so high that they didn't have a waiting list for students wanting to live on campus, and they had to shut down one of the dorms completely. The on-campus atmosphere is a HUGE part of what has made the last few years at USF appear more and more like a traditional undergraduate college with lots of school spirit. Of course, having a football team and being in the Big East helps a lot, with the new logo, etc. But the on-campus residencies really make people feel tied to the university. And I can guarantee you this... if people are forced to pay such outrageous prices, things will only go downhill for at least a few years. It shuts people off from wanting to participate. I absolutely encourage living on campus for a year or two, it really helps with making friends and getting to know the university. But forcing such financial difficulty is absolutely ludicrous. Give Tom Kane, Director of Residence Services a call, and let him know that we want USF to be spirited like UF, but not uncaring and cold to students' needs as UF now has a tendency to be characterized.
  16. USF 28 - 24 325 Hall I'm picking USF but I'm not holding my breath. Rutgers beat Pitt 37-29 and we're not even playing at home.
  17. By Joe Starkey Special to ESPN.com Rutgers storms the field and the article mentions nothing about anyone getting hurt or killed. OR Tazed for that matter. Cry me a river, you conservative old farts.
  18. I'm really getting quite tired of you aloof conservative old folks who conjure stories up that feature drunken students looking to destroy everything in sight. This is just another small example. I attended four years of football games and was never drunk at one of them, and neither were the majority of my friends. You might have enjoyed "Crown" and "dreaming about cheerleaders" in your day (scary thought) but the majority of students are not drunken lunatics. Cry about why rushing the field is "risky," don't seek to falsely denigrate the students who want to do it.
  19. Well, smarty pants, you figured me out. Except - you didn't. Every point I made was quite obviously dripping with sarcasm and condescension, and you must have missed the huddle. My "sophomorish" (sophomoric is what you must have meant to write) points were never intended to do anything but serve to mock the purportedly serious points you attempted to make. Essentially - I'll spell it out now: y-o-u-r...a-r-g-u-m-e-n-t...a-g-a-i-n-s-t...a-n...O-C-S...a-n-d...r-u-s-h-i-n-g...t-h-e...f-i-e-l-d...a-r-e-...i-n-a-n-e. Did you get all that? If you "dreamed" about cheering your football team to victory, but never even "THOUGHT" about rushing the field, then your thinking was too provincial and your dreaming fell short of the awesome future our university hopefully will see... I'm not so concerned about controlling mob mentality when we currently have no control over lack of mentality...
  20. Yeah - but what's our record after a DOUBLE bye week!! DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNN..........
  21. Well **** Smazza, I couldn't agree with you more. At the risk of being called a "Smazza-ite" I couldn't have said it better myself!
  22. Oooh oooh.... wait I got it!! Let's tell our fans to remember that having trash cans at the RayJay costs money, and the people who empty them cost money to be paid. So we'll tell everybody they should take their trash home with them, then we'll save up lots of money and we won't cost USF that money!!! No EVEN better! USF and the RayJay pay lawyers to be on their staff, and probably have insurance too in case fans fall over and die from a heart attack, or trip and break their nose on the stairs, or fall backwards out of their chairs.... let's just tell everyone not to have any accidents, so they never have to make insurance claims or pay any lawyers!!! We can save USF some money and build an on-campus stadium with it!!! Moral of the Story: There's a "stick-in-your-ass." I don't care what douchebags at what university were dumb enough to kill somebody while tearing down a goalpost. There are a million and one ways to keep fans from tearing down goalposts, and 999,999 of them involve making the fans happy too by allowing them to rush the field without touching the goalposts.
