  1. I am just glad for our players and for our fans that there is football happening at USF. Even more glad that we will play Notre Dame, a fine replacement for Texas. We could be in a conference like the B1G or Pac12 and not playing football at all... thankfully we are playing football. The Citadel game is just a few weeks away and the questions of having fans and how many and how to handle them involve so many factors that I feel nobody can blame Athletics for making the prudent choice of not having fans that first game. We will be able to watch on TV, and thankfully, we can look forward to attending at least a few home games this year. As fans, we have a lot to be happy for, and we can stomach missing the cupcake opponent opener. I am also thankful that COVID hit during what will likely be the toughest rebuilding year to be expected for our team; even a 6-win season would have beaten many expectations. Having the pandemic hit in a year we hoped to make a run on a NY6 game would have been worse.
  2. Brian Kelly will destroy us!! But I am excited to see the start of the CJS era like no coach since CJL. I LOVE that AD MK and co were able to get this game scheduled, no matter the outcome. The future of USF football is bright with MK & CJS at the helms.
  3. Waiting!! What's the news? Aw, there I went paying heed to a tweet. Why do I do that to myself?
  4. You still print your Mapquest directions too, don't you? Or *gasp* do you have paper maps?!?
  5. Really wish they would stick with traditional combos which have always looked great. That black jersey does kinda look good, but slime green is terrible. It's repulsive. Use jerseys from the early/mid-2000's. Since then unis have not resonated well with me. We should want to look legit, not cartoonish. We want to look like we fit in with P5 teams, not gimmicky. I agree with the earlier comment that gimmicks are more acceptable if you're winning all the time, but they look so much worse when you're losing. Even then, when we had our great seasons with Taggart, gimmicky things were just reminders that we were not "big-time". Final comment- we can't do anything about it, but I really hope there is a company in our future other than Adidas, which is bargain-bin basement small-time when it comes to college football jerseys.
  6. There are already multiple methods available for tests with an hour or less turnaround time. Cepheid for example. If the conferences say that a new, quick turnaround test makes their decision, they did not do their homework the first time. Or.... They realized the information upon which they based their initial decision was flawed/incomplete/biased/etc.
  7. They were sold by Bulls Outfitter I am planning to submit an NCAA application in order to actually reorder these in bulk and sell them at or close to cost to USF fans. I communicated with the company which produced them and they'll make a bulk order again but require an NCAA license, hence my quest. Hopefully by season I'll have something for ya!
  8. Personally I am immensely appreciative of his attitude. That's the way it should be, and the way it hasn't been for too long.
  9. Your boundless optimism is admirable. I do love your heavy green and gold glasses. My realism is a bit of a downer, but did accurately predict this year's W-L record exactly.
  10. It will be 2-3 years before we can beat UCF. Not even Scott Frost would turn this team around in year 1.
  11. If I'm not mistaken, Franks lost the job to Trask last year, but then Trask injured his foot in practice and missed the year due to foot surgery. Franks remained the starter to start this season due to having been the starter last season, but his head was already being called for by most Gator fans. He sorta lucked out that he was injured, otherwise he probably would have been yanked.
  12. Just saying I'd rather not bring in a QB with serious issues that couldn't be fixed in a multiyear stint at a major program with resources and attention for a single year here. Much prefer putting the time and resources into training someone with potential for multiyear success who doesn't also already have a ton of red flags. Its not like our roster is championship-ready with the sole piece lacking a QB, which would be the time you might consider that (though Felipe would not be that QB for me).
  13. Yeah. A number 1 overall pick. How has his team done since he has been drafted? What's his TD-to-INT ratio? How much has it improved since his college years? What is his team's record again??? Please, friend, bring some juice with your suggestions....
  14. His problem is all between the ears. See: Jameis Winston. Ain't gonna be fixed easily, if at all.
  15. Felipe? As in Franks? Just ask a Florida fan about him. NO THANKS
  16. Taggart owes us. He threw the game when we played WKU while he was at USF. Better toss US the bone this time
  17. First order of business in recent tradition: run it up the middle on 1st down. HB dive!!
  18. My friend, your caps lock was stuck at the 'on' position, and its harder to read that. Unless you intended to SHOUT, in which case ROCK ON BROTHER.
  19. The rumor is all over the Twitterverse that CJS turned down FSU among other schools to come to "the right opportunity" at USF. Does anyone have knowledge of whether there is a shred of truth to this? Much as I was a CJL fan, I have to admit, watching this unfold gives me real hope for USF's future. I think MK hit this one out of the park. And yes, the way this is shaping up, I am cautiously optimistic CJS will be better than even a return by CJL.
  20. Griff is my buddy too. No, haven't spoken with him about this, but no doubt everyone else tried
