  1. Tennessee Tech 21-7 Nicholls State 27-17 Just a couple of reminders that those "whipping boys" can put up more of a fight than expected.
  2. http://www.thebullspen.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=news;action=display;num=1134661801 Why not? Its called good marketing and expanding your recruiting base. We all talk about the wealth of talent in the state of Florida, especially South Florida, so we shouldn't be so naive to think that schools from outside of the state wouldn't try and recruit there as well. Esepcially taking into consideration that we are in the same conference as them.
  3. There is no need to bring your hatred of Notre Dame to this forum
  4. I'll know tomorrow afternoon when I pick them up from the SunDome
  5. HEY HEY HEY........thats only partially true!!! At least you didn't throw in the fact that the sales of t-top Camaros, flannel shirts and Bon Jovi cd's would spike in the Bay area.
  6. I think what he was implying was that in the future, if there were more than 4 bowl eligible BE teams, we could get shutout (as we could have this year if UConn was eligible) because of poor ticket sales to the MCCB
  7. And I agree with this. At least with Greenberg we were able to be excited about conference match-ups and the conference tourney before our ineptitude in the fundamentals (ie: foul shooting) and the underachieving of certain players let us down year after year. I also feel that we have taken steps backwards and it is unacceptable to be starting our first year in a VERY respected basketball conference with the product we are putting on the floor right now, but I am willing to see what Coach Mac can pull out of his hat in the next couple of seasons before looking for a change.
  8. Ha Ha.....great, just what we would need, something else uniform related for Shoop to complain about   ;D
  9. Those numbers and scenerios were being pulled from posts by other people. The point I was trying to make was with where we are now, if we were to turn around in the next couple of seasons and secure an NIT bid, it would be an amazing turn-around and a credit to Coach Mac and his staff. Like I said, its called baby steps........you can't take a team like the one we have now and scoff at the notion of an NIT invitation because you want to aim higher. With the shape this team is in, it should be a goal/priority to make the NIT. At least that would mean we had a .500 season or better, as compared to what we've had to deal with the past 3 seasons.
  10. I'm surprised the Peach Bowl took Miami over Clemson. Its a nothing Bowl to Miami and they travel almost as bad as we do, while Clemson travels like a mother and is only a couple hours from Atlanta. The Meineke did what they had to do by taking NC State, especially after UConn lost and they had to take us. It was a no-brainer for them to take a "local" team that they knew would put butts in the seats. Besides, BC was in this Bowl last year and Bowls hate having the same team twice......espicially since, according to the MCCB website, they only sold about 7,000-8,000 tickets last year.
  11. I wanna see what Coach Mac can do now that we are in the BE, which should (hopefully) open-up the recruiting pipeline for kids up north who may not have even been exposed to USF before. When a kid coming out of HS sees what we have on the court now, he may see a situation where he can play quality minutes and make a difference while getting the exposure that comes with playing a BE schedule. Shoot, imagine what this team would be like with just 2 or 3 recruits who have a chip on their shoulder because they were passed-up by the UConn's and Syracuse's and L'Ville's. As for those crapping on the NIT and wanting to aim higher, please remember we're talking about a team that might be lucky to win 10 games this year. Its called baby steps. We'd be doing cartwheels if in a season or two this team had 20 wins, a winning record in the BE and an invite to the NIT.
  12. It probably has something to do with money. We may also be under contract with them for a specific amount of time, as I believe they have been our uniform provider since the inception of the program. Too bad it isn't Nike, we probably could have had a nice green jersey with one gold shoulder for the MCCB :
  13. HA HA HA.....i think we actually saw the same girl when we were tailgating......if not there was more than one : :shudders::
  14. I would have to agree with this statement. I hate to use vulgarity on these family friendly boards, but UCF wears Adidas on the field and a number of their fans had on replica Moffitt jerseys at RJS.
  15. Might be talking about the Beef's at Bearss and BBD
  16. Not to play parrot and repeat things that have already been said, but as mentioned before, we are what we are. We struggle to get more than 30,000 to a "non-marquee" home game, so no one should have visions of grandure that we would travel 10,000-12,000 deep to a game thats 9 hours away. Just using UConn as an example, if this bowl wanted them because they sold 5000 tix last year, we should be fine if we come in around that same number if all things are considered equally (ie: being a young program and not having the best travel record to begin with). As for the excuses, thats just what they are. Granted there are extenuating circumstance that will not allow people to make it, but for someone to say they can't go to an 11am bowl game on Saturday because of a 1pm Bucs game on Sunday, thats just weak. My boss is flying up Thursday night and flying back Saturday after the game to entertain clients at a concert Saturday night, so it can be done. If we have patience, the fans will come, and we will then be able to take solice in the fact that we have been there since the beginning.
  17. I am represented in BigShoop's group of 14......i talked my sister (current USF student) into buying a ticket even though she doesn't think she can make it.
  18. Trainer/Office Mule for local credit union. Also fancy myself as a professional drinker in my spare time.
  19. I believe the officials will be from a 3rd party conference, but I could be mistaken
  20. From the Panthers website: Non-NFL Event Parking Bank of America Stadium offers you the ability to secure parking adjacent to the stadium for non-Panthers events. Lot 1, also known as the Mint Street Parking Facility, is located at the corner of Mint and Graham streets and is directly across from the stadium's North Gate. This location offers convenience and ease, offering three entrances and exits. Please note that grilling and open flames are prohibited in this parking lot. Download a non-NFL event parking application. http://www.panthers.com/pdf/parking_application.pdf The Meineke Car Care Bowl is specifically named on this application
  21. Thanks SCM......as long as our programs stay on the right path I'm sure we'll be competing for BE Titles for years to come
